Hamilton Feeder Steer,
Heifer Prices Higher
HAMILTON —(Sept. 26)— Feeder steers sold steady to $5 higher,
the advance on lightweights, heifers $1-4 higher, slaughter cows and
bulls steady, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 819 head.
Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $110-132,
300-400 lbs. $102-127, 400-500 lbs. $91-107, 500-600 lbs. $86-98,
600-700 lbs. $80-90, over 700 lbs. $70-79.
Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $105-136,
300-400 lbs. $89-106, 400-500 lbs. $83-99, 500-600 lbs. $76-85,
600-700 lbs. $74-82, over 700 lbs. $70-83.50.
Slaughter cows: high yielding $37-41.50, low yielding $28-33; high
yielding bulls $45-51, low yielding $39-43; choice bred stock cows
$575-650 per head, medium $450-535, aged $325-475.
Last week 1978 sheep and goats were sold.
Sheep: lambs 40-60 lbs. $91-99, 60-80 lbs. $89-93, 80-100 lbs.
$83-89, over 100 lbs. $72-81; slaughter ewes $42.50-43, stock ewes
