Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in Oklahoma for April delivery 70 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred steers to weigh 750 pounds at $84, and for current delivery 80 similar steers weighing 650 at $88; in North Texas for current delivery 70 No. 1 and better English and exotic cross heifers weighing 700 at $83; in Central Texas 70 similar heifers weighing 750 at $80.

USDA reports 2300 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for current delivery medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 775-800 pounds at $83.25-86; for May delivery at sellers' option similar heifers to weigh 700 at $4 back of the May futures board.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 1800 head, all for current delivery. Medium and large No. 1-2 steers weighing 800-850 pounds brought $82.50-83 f.o.b. Washington and Idaho, 850 pounds $82-83 delivered in Washington; similar heifers weighing 800 pounds were $80 f.o.b. Washington and Oregon, and 650 pound replacement heifers were $86-89 f.o.b. Idaho.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 250 head for current delivery, including a couple of loads of medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 650 pounds at $95 f.o.b., and a load of similar heifers weighing 600 at $90 f.o.b.

USDA reports 3300 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Colorado range, including: for March delivery 600 medium and large No. 1 heifers to weigh 675 pounds at $84 delivered; for current delivery 50 similar steers weighing 520 at $108.50 delivered, 400 steers weighing 775 at $85 f.o.b., and 700 steers weighing 825 at $84-85.50 delivered; 50 similar heifers weighing 480 at $100.50 delivered, 300 heifers weighing 525 at $102.50 delivered, 330 heifers weighing 725 at $82 f.o.b., 250 heifers weighing 725 at $83 delivered, 475 heifers weighing 780 at $83.50 delivered, and 140 heifers weighing 800 at $83.25 delivered.

USDA counted 872 head of feeder cattle selling direct in Florida. Medium and large No. 1-2 steers weighing 535-540 pounds were $95-99.75, 560-575 pounds $94.25-97, and 625 pounds $87.75; similar heifers weighing 530-540 were $87-91.25 and 560-565 pounds $85-89.
