Kansas Direct Feeder
Cattle Prices Steady

DODGE CITY, Kan. —(USDA)— Feeder steers sold steady in Kansas direct trade last week, heifers mostly steady. Sales were confirmed on 8179 head. A major snow and ice storm hit the area Thursday night with 3-9 inches of snow and winds 20-40 miles per hour. Some snow drifts were 3-4 feet high. Eastern Kansas had rain and ice before the snow.

Steers: medium and large No. 1 725-775 lbs. $84-86, 825 lbs. $82.50 fleshy; 525-535 lbs. delivered $99.17, 650-675 lbs. $91.35-94.36, 700-800 lbs. $84-90.47, 800 lbs. $83-84.

Heifers: medium and large No. 1 725 lbs. $81; 575-600 lbs. delivered $92.14, 600-700 lbs. $83.30-85.98, 700-750 lbs. $80.54-87.10; middleaged stock cows, 1275 lbs. 4-6 months bred $885 per head.
