Sam Elliott of Amarillo has bought 190 plain steer yearlings from
H.A. Freeman of Eastland at $125 per head, immediate delivery.

Gale Eastman, of Barrick Cattle Company in Amarillo, is reported to
have bought 93 steer yearlings averaging 624 pounds at 36 cents a
pound from Armstrong and Armstrong, Roswell. He also bought two
carloads of long yearlings averaging 824 from Doc Barker of Roswell at
31 cents.

Walton Kothmann, Menard order buyer, says one or two more shipping
days will just about clean up the yearling muttons in that area. He
whipped 2900 last Sunday which were bought form various ranchmen at 25
to 26 cents, depending on quality. He expects to buy a few more
bunches this week for shipment Sunday. He has 1500 Corriedale yearling
ewes to sell.

Wayne Harris of San Angelo has sold a load of five-year-old fat dry
ewes weighing 110 pounds to Mid-West Feed yards at $18.50 per head.

Nelson Johnson of San Angelo says when he started to buy lime and
sulphur dip recently to treat sheep being shipped to California he
found the local price $1 to $1.05 per gallon, but he decided to order
some from California where he could get it at 26 cents.

Bert Kincaid, Fort Stockton, has sold around 1500 solidmouth ewes
with lambs, including around 900 for Fred Montgomery of Fort Stockton,
at $10 to $14 per pair, price depending on condition of the sheep.

Gene Prey of Amarillo bought 150 heifers weighing 687 pounds at
$16.75, delivered June 1, from George Porter of Amarillo. These were
shipped to Colorado feedlots.

Malloy Cattle Co., Des Moines, Iowa, bought 250 mixed Angus calves
for Aug. 15-Sept. 15 delivery at $18.50 straight across from Luther
Riggs of Tulsa, Okla.

pounds at $19 to R.B. Hayden of Hart, delivered June 5.

Ray Wharton of Bandera was big money winner in the 22nd annual
Midland World Championship Rodeo last week, taking a total of $996 by
virtue of roping and tying calves faster than anybody else in the
crowd. Elliot Calhoun won the bareback bronc riding, Marty Wood the
saddle bronc riding, Sonny Olichant the steer wrestling, and C.C.
Evans the wild cow milking.

J.B. Parker of Encinal, Texas, has sold 1000 crossbred feeder
steers expected to weigh close to 900 pounds at $19 for delivery this
week to Sunshine Farms of Phoenix, Ariz.

Red Dortch and Bill Cummings of Stratford sold 218 steer yearlings
expected to weigh about 850 pounds at $22.50 with 16 head out at
$20.50 for delivery this week to an Amarillo buyer.

Herbie Eastburn of Amarillo bought 70 steer yearlings averaging 566
pounds at $25.25 and received them last week from Henry Cone of
Canyon.

Newt Redmond of Tulia sold 265 steer yearlings described as good
quality Herefords weighing about 650 pounds at $24.75 and delivered
them last week to an Amarillo buyer.

The 21,000-acre E.K. Warren ranch near Las Vegas, N.M. is reported
to have sold to C.T. McLaughlin, Snyder, Texas ranchman and oilman.
Selling price was not confirmed, but was reported to be $40 per acre
for the well-improved cattle and sheep ranch. The new owner is to take
immediate possession. Warren operates another ranch in that section.

breeds weighing about 500 pounds at $127.50 per head from John Oldham
of Shamrock.

12-months wool in a showing of about 240,000 pounds Tuesday at 10-22
cents per pound, bulk 12-17 cents.

pounds of mostly short wool. Prices ranged from 56 to 80 cents f.o.b.
the warehouse, averaging 75 cents.

$44.50, northern ewes generally stopping at $39. Midwest markets sold
similar ewes for $18-26.
