Texas Goat Prices
Mostly Called Steady

Slaughter goat prices were mostly steady, though there was a little weakness in some markets and Goldthwaite was $5-7 lower. Lightweight kids in Junction were $1-3 higher.

Mexico took 1084 goats last week, and slaughter under federal inspection included 10,882 goats.

In Hamilton 20-40 pound kids brought 85-97, 40-65 pounds $83-95 and 65 pounds up $78-90. Spanish nannies made $39-54 and Boer cross $47-60; Spanish billies $59-70 and Boer cross $52-59.

Lometa had meat type kids 35-45 pounds $85-107, 50-70 pounds $85-110, 70-90 pounds $80-88 and over 100 pounds $70-80; nannies were $45-60, billies $65-72.

Goldthwaite Spanish kids 30-50 pounds brought $82-86.50 and 60-80 pounds $74-83; 50-125 pound nannies $42-52, 115-195 pound billies $60-65, muttons 90-120 pounds $49-55. Boer cross kids 30-50 pounds were $85-92, 50-80 pounds $80-88; nannies 80-130 pounds $45-57, a few to $60, billies 130-205 pounds $60-69 and muttons 85-130 pounds $65-82.50.

Junction lightweight kids made $96-104, heavies $80-88, yearlings $80-85, nannies $50-58, billies and muttons $75-90.

San Angelo had 30-40 pound kids and yearlings at $96-104, 40-80 pounds $84-94, nannies 80-125 pounds $44-55.

Fredericksburg moved 30-50 pound Spanish kids at $82-91, 50-80 pounds $79-90.50; Boer cross 30-50 pounds were $86-95, 50-80 pounds $86-93. Meat type nannies 70-150 pounds were $34-50, billies 95-200 pounds $70-76, and muttons 85-160 pounds $55.50-70.
