U.S. To Mexico Exports
Showing Sharp Decline

LAS CRUCES, N.M. —(USDA)— Livestock exports to Mexico for the year through September 22 were down 20 percent at 405,829 head.

Total beef cattle numbers were down 23 percent at 84,334 head, and slaughter cattle were also down 23 percent at 80,719. Dairy cattle were down 11 percent at 15,705 head.

Total hog exports were down 59 percent at 24,737 head. Slaughter numbers were off 80 percent at 9882 head.

Sheep exports were down nine percent at 251,372 head. Slaughter sheep were also off nine percent at 250,312 head. Goats were off 36 percent 25,165 head.

Horse exports were up 43 percent at 2033 head, and exotics were up 25 percent at 2483 head.
