New England Bunnies
Subject Of Concern

DANBURY, Conn. — Furry little creatures no longer have to be listed as endangered for government to worry about them.

Connecticut officials are concerned about the decline of the native New England cottontail rabbit.

The state's Department of Environmental Protection plans to place radio collars on the cottontails to study their range and habitats.

State officials say that while the cottontail is not in danger of extinction, it is suffering loss of its brushy habitat.

(Hope they never find out about drouthed-out West Texas mosquitoes. — Ed.)
