Kansas Direct Feeder
Steers, Heifers Lower

DODGE CITY, Kan. —(USDA)— Feeder steers sold steady to $1 lower last week in Kansas direct trade, heifers steady to $1 lower on light receipts. A winter storm moved into the area on Wednesday and southern portions of the state received freezing rain and ice, the north half 4-12 inches of snow. Sales were confirmed on 6902 head.

Steers: medium and large No. 1 load 691 lbs. $89.75, 700-750 lbs. $79-84, few thin $87, 750-800 lbs. $80.45-83, 800-850 lbs. $77.50-81.50, fleshy $77; 650-700 lbs. delivered $87.14-89.79, part load 741 lbs. $83.24, 800-850 lbs. $79.41-83.39; 775 lbs. for March delivery $83.

Heifers: medium and large No. 1 part load 651 lbs. $80.50, three loads 725 lbs. $78; medium and large 1-2 load 475 lbs. $92.81, load 525 lbs. $89.26; medium and large No. 2 couple loads 433 lbs. $85.90, 500-575 lbs. $78.77-83.03; load 445 lbs. delivered $96.50, 650-700 lbs. $82.17-85.26, 700-800 lbs. $77.19-81; medium and large 1-2 load 613 lbs. $82.18; medium and large No. 2 load 671 lbs. $74.17.
