WINTER CONDITIONS in West Texas have been generally mild, if mostly dry. That has helped livestock like these mixed breed cows and calves near Sterling City subsist on short grass and sacked feed. Some areas await only a little moisture and sunny weather to bring on spring weeds, but cow grass will require considerably more assistance from Mother Nature.
