Feeder Lambs Lower, Fat Lambs Mixed
Feeder and fat lambs sold weak to around $4 lower on Texas markets this week, while Midwest markets found a little strength on feeders and were $2-3 higher on fat lambs. Slaughter ewes were a little on the soft side.

Plains Fed Cattle Movement Still Nonexistent At Midweek
Plains feedlots and packers maintained another standoff through midweek, the latter bidding $2 less than last week's market and the former seeking a $1-2 increase. Bids ran $61 and asking prices $64-65.

Texas Slaughter Goat Prices Move Mostly Lower This Week
Slaughter kid goats at most Texas markets were $3-10 lower this week to fully erase advances made last week.

U.S. Meat Production 7.5% Above A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 923.2 million pounds, 18.3 percent more than the previous week's holiday period and 7.5 percent more than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was up 2.7 percent at 19.9 billion pounds.

Superior Livestock Video Sale Offering Totals 37,600 Cattle
Superior Livestock Auction offered 37,600 feeder cattle and bred stock at their regularly scheduled video sale. Consignments were from 17 states. Yearling feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 lower, calves steady.

Angelo Lambs Steady, Feeder Cattle Lower
Slaughter and feeder lambs sold steady this week, slaughter ewes weak, nanny goats weak, kids $5-10 lower. Two day receipts totaled 17,119 head, around 50 percent slaughter ewes, 15 percent feeder lambs, 10 percent slaughter lambs and 25 percent goats.

Abilene Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-3 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $2 lower, stock cows and pairs steady to weak. Receipts totaled 1151 head.

Goldthwaite Lambs Steady, Goats Lower
Slaughter lambs sold steady, stock and feeder goats $2-3 higher, slaughter goats $5-7 lower. Receipts totaled 2630 head.

Kansas Direct Feeder Steers On Firm Side
Feeder steers sold steady to firm in Kansas direct trade last week, heifers too few for a market test. Scattered thundershowers moved through southwest Kansas with traces to 1.5 inches of rain. Sales were confirmed on 8252 head.

Most Graham Feeder Cattle Sell Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 higher except heifers under 500 pounds lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady to lower, stock cows and pairs $10-20 higher. Receipts totaled 1065 head.

Domestic Wool Slow, Aussie Wools Lower
Domestic wool trading is winding down now as shearing is completed in all areas. Demand was moderate to good for the historically low supplies. The undertone was steady on both grease and clean sales.

Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows and pairs $10-20 lower. Receipts totaled 582 head.

Most Fredericksburg Feeder Cattle Higher
Feeder steers and heifers were mostly $2-5 higher, heavyweight steers $1-2 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 1186 head.

Most Lampasas Steer, Heifer Prices Lower
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 lower, slaughter cows $1-2 lower, bulls $3-4 higher. Receipts totaled 1016 head.

Fredericksburg Lambs, Goats Trend Lower
Feeder and slaughter lambs sold $2-4 lower, stock and slaughter goats $3-5 lower. Receipts totaled 4484 head.

Hamilton Lightweight Feeder Cattle Higher
Lightweight feeder steers and heifers sold higher, heavyweights steady, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 309 head.

Junction Sheep Steady, Kid Goats Off Sharply
Most sheep and goat classes sold steady except kids $5-8 lower. Receipts totaled 3859 head.

Total Meat Output Shows Some Growth
Major meat production figures for the U.S. show a growth pattern for the first four months of the year.

Llano Feeder Steers, Heifers Trend Steady
Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady, some plain steers $1-2 lower, slaughter cows $2 lower, bulls steady. Receipts totaled 727 head.

San Saba, Brownwood, Mason Feeders Lower
Feeder steers sold $3-$4 lower last week in Mason, Brownwood and San Saba, heifers $2-$4 lower, slaughter cows and bulls $1-$3 lower, choice bred stock cows and pairs active. Receipts totaled 2352 head at the three sales.
