ST. JOSEPH, Mo. —(USDA)— In the High Plains medium and large
1-2 young to middleaged 850-1100 pound cows 4-8 months bred brought
$500-660 per head, a few aged bred cows $450-550, young to middle-aged
850-1150 pound cows with 100-150 pound calves $550-700, a few in
Kansas with 300-400 pound calves $750-910 per pair.
The Mountain and Northern Plains states had medium and large 1
young 975-1250 pound cows with 150-250 pound calves $780-880, similar
cows with 250-315 pound calves $900-930; middleaged 1050-1400 pound
cows with 180-350 pound calves $720-810, a few in South Dakota up to
$960, aged 1100-1300 pound cows with 180-300 pound calves $680-775.
In the Southeast medium and large 1-2 young to middleaged 850-1250
pound 6-8 month bred cows were $720-810, similar cows 3-6 months bred
$550-600, young to middleaged 800-1200 pounds cows with 75-200 pound
calves $550-630, similar cows with 200-300 pound calves $710-940.
