Angelo Feeder Lambs
Steady, Fats Lower
SAN ANGELO —(USDA)— Slaughter lambs were weak, feeder lambs
firm to $2 higher, slaughter ewes steady to $2 lower, the greatest
decline on thin ewes; nannies and kids were weak. Trading and demand
moderate. Quality average to plain. Two day receipts totaled an
estimated 18,000 head, around 50 percent slaughter ewes, 15 percent
feeder lambs, five percent slaughter lambs and the balance goats.
Feeder steers and heifers were firm to $1 higher last week,
slaughter cows and bulls and stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts
totaled 1315 head, around 55 percent calves, 25 percent slaughter cows
and bulls, 15 percent yearlings, and five percent stock cows and
pairs.
Feeder Lambs: medium and large No. 1-2 40-60 lbs. $81-89, 60-70
lbs. $77-79, set $85.50, 70-90 lbs. $74-77, set 96 lbs. $80.50; medium
and large No. 2 40-60 lbs. $75-81, 60-90 lbs. $65-75.
