Superior Video Sale
Steady To $4 Higher
WINNEMUCCA, Nev. —(July 16-19)— Superior Livestock Auction sold
more than 177,000 head of stocker, feeder and bred cattle in their
annual "Video Royale" auction.
Consignments were from 29 states, demand termed good and trade
active on all classes. Southwestern and central yearlings and calves
were steady to $1 higher, heifers $1-2 higher; northern yearlings were
$2-4 higher and calves steady; southwestern calves were steady to $1
higher.
Some representative sales: Don and June Kimble, Animas, N.M., VAC
45 black steers, 400 pounds 105.75; Roger Welch, Bronson, Kan., black
and black whiteface steers, 625 pounds $89.25 for August delivery; RDL
Farms, O’Brien, Fla., 520 pound black Angus-sired steers $87.10, 500
pound heifers $78.50 for August delivery; Taylor Ranch, Cheyenne,
Okla., 475 pound Maine-Anjou cross VAC 34 steers, $97.50 for September
delivery; Perkins-Prothro Ranch, Amarillo, 425 pound VAC 34 black
whiteface steers out of Hereford cows by Gardiner Angus bull, $106.75
for August through September delivery; Carter Ranch, Oakwood, Texas,
550 pound black Angus-sired VAC 34 steers, $89.60, 525 pound heifers,
$82.85 for September delivery; Thomas Ranch, Alzada, Mont., 460 pound
VAC 34 black and black whiteface steers, $94.25, 435 heifers $88.25
for October delivery; Brett Jones, Ashland, Kan., 700 pound
light-fleshed predominately Charolais cross steers $81.85 for
immediate delivery; Aubrey L. Russell, Amarillo, 700 pound English
cross and exotic cross heifers, $75.60 for July delivery.
