Avery Adams and Bruce Wheeler of Tulia, Texas, sold 375 heifer
yearlings at 27 cents a pound to Cotton McDade of Clayton, New Mexico,
for August 1 delivery at Mt. Dora, New Mexico.

Bill Foley, representing Wertheimer Colorado Cattle Company of
Amarillo, bought 100 steers averaging 748 pounds at 28 cents and
received them July 21 from B.F. Greesen of Summerfield, Texas.
Wertheimer sold 50 heifers averaging 493 pounds at 28 cents and
shipped them July 25 to Crane and Stephenson, Lexington, Kentucky.

George Pulley of Amarillo bought 100 choice mixed calves for October
15 delivery from Frank Daugherty of Olton, Texas, at 32 cents a pound
straight across. These will be loaded at Plainview.

Leroy Russell, San Angelo commission agent, this week sold 250
mixed calves in the Rankin area for delivery next week at 31 and 32
cents; these are expected to weigh slightly under 400 pounds. He sold
the light end of the Noelke Estate mixed lambs at Rankin, numbering
around 1200 Rambouillet-Corriedale crossbreds, to San Angelo buyers at
19 cents, and sold 200 steer calves in Oklahoma for September delivery
at 32 cents.

Wampus Espy of Sonora this week sold 300 crossbred blackface fat
lambs to Vestel Askew, buying for Armour and Company, at 23 and 24
cents a pound. These lambs have been creep fed and weighed 79 pounds
on delivery Tuesday.

Duke Wilson of Sonora this week sold to Horace Linthicum of
Eldorado, 2000 whiteface mixed lambs for September 15 delivery at 20
cents a pound through Johnny Hamby of Sonora.

A good volume of original bag kid mohair was sold in the local
market at between $1.65 and $1.70. Sorted 36s kid mohair sold in good
weight at around $1.85 to $1.90. Inquiry was mostly for the finer kid
qualities.
Graded fine staple Delaine wool sold at 65 cents and 66 cents in
the grease and was estimated to cost from $1.61 to $1.63 per clean
pound.

Mid-West Feed Yards, San Angelo, bought 1200 whiteface lambs for
Sept. 1 delivery at $19 from Clyde Sears Jr., Abilene; these include
some ewe lambs, though the grower tops some out for replacements.

Raymond Weatherford of Dumas, Texas, is reported to have sold about
400 steers yearlings at $19.80 for fall delivery to Colorado feeders;
these are expected to average around 750 pounds at delivery.

Harold Newman of Fort Worth last week contracted about 1200 lambs,
mostly muttons and most of them crossbreds, from Meriwether Bros.,
Alpine, at $19.50.

Kent Chesney of Natoma, Kan., sold 112 steers weighing 850 to 1050
pounds to John Chisler, Natoma, and delivered them this week at
$21.50. They were shipped to Nebraska feedlots.

S.E. Adams of San Angelo sold off his Coke County ranch, 500
whiteface feeder lambs weighing 76 pounds at $18 to Illinois buyers
and delivered them last weekend; also 229 fat lambs weighing 89 pounds
at $20.50 to Armour & Co., Fort Worth.

Maurice Fausset & Son, San Angelo, bought 650 whiteface
yearling ewes at $12 per head from Sam Chumley, Big Lake, and shipped
them to Gillette, Wyo.

as "good southerns" expected to weigh about 650 pounds at
$22.50 for September and October delivery to a Kansas buyer.

expected to weigh 375-400 pounds at $30 for Oct. 15-Nov. 15 delivery
to Buck Cone, Amarillo.

weighing 813 pounds at $25 and received them last week from George

Texas Panhandle area feedlots sold 111,400 head of cattle through
Wednesday afternoon at mostly $66. The week’s showlist was 104,622
head.

November delivery four loads of No. 1 Brangus cross steers to weigh
650 pounds at $89 and one load of heifer mates to weigh 550 at $82.

with fat ewes stopping at $55. Midwest ewes were mostly $38-48.50.
Billings had ewes at $39-42.
