Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in New Mexico for October delivery 200 black and black baldface steer calves to weigh 525 pounds at $90, also 100 similar heifers to weigh 480 at $83; on the South Plains for September 80 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred heifers to weigh 650 at $74.50; in North Texas for current delivery 280 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred steers weighing 750 at $77, also 150 similar heifers weighing 600-625 at $75.

USDA reports 3450 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for October delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 725 pounds at $77; for September similar steers to weigh 485 at $90; for current delivery similar steers weighing 400 at $100 delivered, 700-775 pounds at $77-80, and 800-850 pounds at $73.50-76; similar heifers weighing 375 at $92 delivered, 650-700 pounds at $76, and 825 pounds at $70.

Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in East Texas six loads of No. 1 English and exotic cross steer and heifer calves weighing 600 and 575 pounds at $78 and $73, also two loads of black steers weighing 765 at $76.50 and a load of No. 1½ crossbred steers weighing 750 at $75; in New Mexico one load of Holstein steers weighing 425 at $78 and a load weighing 375 at $86.

Northwest direct feeder cattle trading as confirmed by USDA totaled 3800 head, all for current delivery. Medium and large No. 1-2 steers weighing 600-650 pounds were $77.50 f.o.b. Washington, 750 pounds $75-79 delivered in Idaho, Washington and Oregon, 800-900 pounds $72 f.o.b. Oregon and Washington, 850-900 pounds $73-74 delivered in Washington and Oregon; similar heifers weighing 700-750 pounds were $70-72 f.o.b. Washington and Idaho, 750-800 pounds $70.50-73 delivered in Washington and Oregon, 800-850 pounds $69 f.o.b. Oregon and Washington, and 800-850 pounds $72 delivered in Washington and Oregon.

USDA reports 7950 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Colorado range, all for current delivery, including 410 head of medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 550-590 pounds at $89.80-91.25 delivered, 85 similar steers weighing 600 at $86.90 delivered, 470 steers weighing 650 at $85 delivered, 205 steers weighing 725 at $80 delivered, 2605 steers weighing 750-775 pounds at $78-80.10 delivered, 110 steers weighing 850 at $77 f.o.b., 280 steers weighing 750 at $80-81.25 f.o.b., and 680 steers weighing 800-830 pounds at $77-80 f.o.b.; also 170 similar heifers weighing 600 at $80.60 delivered, 1250 heifers weighing 710-725 at $77-77.25 delivered, and 250 heifers weighing 900 at $71 delivered.

New Mexico direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 5000 head, including: for October delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 700 pounds at $80.50; for current delivery similar steers weighing 375 pounds at $105 delivered, 450 pounds at $96 delivered and 550 pounds at $90 delivered, also 600-625 pounds at $82-84 f.o.b., 750 pounds at $76.50-78 f.o.b., and 850 pounds at $70 f.o.b.; similar heifers weighing 500-575 pounds at $78-80 delivered and 700 pounds at $73 f.o.b.
