Brown and Tovrea of Dalhart, Texas, are reported to have sold 1100
steer yearlings for October 15-November 1 delivery to Dick Brummett of
Amarillo at 27 cents per pound.

600 mixed calves at 31 cents straight across to Sprulock and Wetzler
of Phoenix, represented by Lowell B. Winsor.

O.G. Hill of Hereford, Texas, sold 175 two year-old steers weighing
1165 pounds at 31 cents per pound to Glover Packing Company of
Roswell; these were delivered last week.

Childress Brothers of Ozona this week sold 340 mixed calves to
Russell Hays of San Angelo at 29 cents a pound straight across.

Harvey Martin of San Angelo bought and shipped around 3000 mixed
lambs, mostly whitefaces at 19 and 20 cents a pound, during the past
week. He also bought one load of crossbred blackface mixed lambs from
Buster Miller of Ozona at 21 cents.

Dick Morrison of Carlsbad, New Mexico, sold one load of calves,
two-thirds steers, to Ray Davis of Carlsbad at 33 cents a pound on an
average weight of 331 pounds.

Frank Cobb and Mrs. Fred Lambert of Tulia, Texas, sold 150 choice
quality steer calves to Lloyd Schneed of Wheatland, Kan., for Oct. 1
delivery at $25 cwt.; these are expected to average about 475 pounds.

Joe Shaw of Mertzon at $20 per head and 800 lighter weight ewes to Joe
Clayton of Ozona at $19 per head.

62 calves on them, ages four to seven, at $152.50 for the pairs and
$100 for the drys to Raymond Reynolds of Dalhart.

616 pounds at $20.50 to Leonard Zielke of Amarillo, delivered last

The Wool Warehouse Co., Albuquerque, showed 1,800,000 pounds of
wool last week and sold 566,000 pounds at prices ranging from 40 to
61-1/8 cents, mainly 52 to 55 cents.

R.B. Wheeler of Tulia sold one load of long age steer yearlings
which had been fed supplement on grass and weigh around 800 pounds to
Jewel Avant of Tulia at $22 for delivery this week.

T.M Dye of Roswell this week sold two bunches of yearling ewes,
totaling about 1000 head, to local ranchers at $15 and $15.50 per
head. These were good quality Columbia type sheep averaging near 100
pounds.

Mrs. Henry Davis sold 650 mixed Angora kids off her Rocksprings
ranch in the hair to a Uvalde order buyer at $7.25 per head delivered
at the ranch; these were bought to go on a ranch owned by Bob French
of Odessa. Another truckload of mixed kids in the same area sold at
$7.50 per head delivered at the ranch.

weigh 725-750 pounds at $22.80 and 85 good Hereford yearlings to weigh
700 at $24, Aug. 15 delivery, from David Long of Guymon.

Gilford Nolan, Dalhart, bought, for the Gooch feedlots there, 200
feeder steers expected to weigh 700 pounds at $23.75 and 150 plainer
steers to weigh about the same at $22.80 in the Dalhart area; also 100
heifers and 150 steers expected to weigh 550 and 700 at $22.50 and
$23.50 for September delivery in Wheeler County; and 100 steers
expected to average 675 at $23.75 for late September delivery in
Collinsworth County.

Red meat imports into the United States last week totaled 30.4
million pounds, or about three percent of domestic production. Lamb
and mutton imports were equal to about 20 percent of domestic
production.
