Feeder Cattle Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 higher last week in
Mason and San Saba, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows and
pairs in good demand. Receipts totaled 3392 head at the two sales.
Steers: choice lightweight calves $100-127, mediumweight $90-103,
heavyweight $75-87, lightweight yearlings $72-77, heavyweight $65-73;
No.2 calves and yearlings $65-80.
Heifers: choice lightweight calves $90-120, mediumweight $85-94,
heavyweight $72-92, lightweight yearlings $70-75, heavyweight $60-66;
No. 2 calves and yearlings $65-75.
Slaughter cows: high dressing $37-40, medium dressing $33-37, low
dressing $28-32; high dressing bulls $47-49, medium dressing $46-49,
low dressing $40-44; choice bred stock cows $700-810 per head, medium
and good $600-700, aged $530-600; choice cows with calves $800-900 per
pair, medium and good $700-800, aged $650-695.
