Feeder lambs sold weak to $1 lower this week, slaughter lambs steady, slaughter ewes unevenly steady; kid goats were firm, nannies steady. Two day receipts totaled 13,332 head, around 60 percent slaughter ewes, five percent slaughter lambs, five percent feeder lambs and 30 percent goats.

U.S. Meat Production 3.8% Above A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 945.1 million pounds, .4 percent more than a week earlier and 3.8 percent more than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was up 3.6 percent at 30.7 billion pounds.

Lampasas Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-3 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 lower. Receipts totaled 1002 head.

Mason, San Saba Steer, Heifer Prices Mixed
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $3 higher last week in Mason and San Saba, the advance on lightweights, laughter cows steady, bulls $1-2 lower, bred stock cows and pairs steady to $20 higher. Receipts totaled 4319 head at the two sales.

Meat Imports Remain At Liberal Rates
USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service reports that 42,335 metric tons, or around 93.1 million pounds of meat were passed for entry into the U.S. the week ending July 27. It was the third largest weekly volume of the year.

Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $1 lower, stock cows and pairs steady to $15 higher. Receipts totaled 932 head.

Abilene Cattle Prices Steady All Around
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 988 head.

Most Milano Cattle Prices Called Steady
Feeder steers sold steady except 600-700 pounds steady to $2 higher, heifers steady, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 959 head.

Hamilton Feeder Steers Higher, Heifers Steady
Feeder steers sold steady to $2 higher, heifers steady, slaughter cows $2 lower, bulls $1 lower. Receipts totaled 597 head. On Monday lambs and ewes were steady, kids steady, nannies lower. Receipts totaled 1185 head.

Llano Feeder Steers, Heifers Trend Higher
Feeder steers sold steady to $2 higher, heifers $2-3 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $2 lower. Receipts totaled 418 head.

Kansas Direct Feeder Steers, Heifers Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $1 higher in Kansas direct trading. The weather was mild with scattered thunderstorms. For the month of August, Dodge City has had more than five inches of moisture. Sales were confirmed on 8031 head.

Domestic Wool Slow, Aussie Wools Higher
Domestic wool trading remained nearly at a standstill again last week. Demand was light for short supplies.

Fredericksburg Lambs Weak, Goats Steady
Slaughter lambs sold steady to weak, stock and slaughter goats steady. Receipts totaled 2187 head.

Colorado City Steers Higher, Heifers Off
Feeder steers sold steady to $1 higher, heifers steady to $1 lower, slaughter cows $2-3 lower, bulls steady, stock cows steady to $20 higher, pairs steady to $40 higher. Receipts totaled 813 head.

Fredericksburg Feeder Cattle Prices Steady
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows and bulls $2 lower. Receipts totaled 1408 head.
