Higher, Heifers Off

COLORADO CITY —(Aug. 28)— Feeder steers sold steady to $1 higher, heifers steady to $1 lower, slaughter cows $2-3 lower, bulls steady, stock cows steady to $20 higher, pairs steady to $40 higher. Receipts totaled 813 head.

Steers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $104-109, 400-500 lbs. $85-94, 500-600 lbs. $80-84, 600-700 lbs. $78-80, 700-750 lbs. $75-79, 800-850 lbs. $71-74.75; medium and large No. 2 200-275 lbs. $103-112, 300-400 lbs. $88-95, 400-500 lbs. $75-79, 500-600 lbs. $71-78.50, 600-700 lbs. $68-74.50, 700-800 lbs. $71-74.75.

Heifers: medium and large No. 1 575 lbs. $78.50-79, 600-700 lbs. $72, 700-800 lbs. $73-75; medium and large No. 2 200-300 lbs. $95-107.50, 300-350 lbs. $87-90, 400-500 lbs. $72-75, 500-600 lbs. $68-74.50, 600-700 lbs. $65-70, 700-750 lbs. $63.50-65.50.

Slaughter cows: breakers $33-35, boners $36-38.50, high dressing $40-42.50, lean 1000-1250 lbs. $33-36.50, 800-1000 lbs. $31-35.50, under 750 lbs. $26-30.50; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1000-1650 lbs. $40.50-55, high dressing 1100-2250 lbs. $48-50.50, low dressing 1100-1350 lbs. $40-40.50.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young and middleaged 700-1300 lbs. 2-8 months bred $430-635 per head, aged 670-1000 lbs. 2-5 months bred $250-420; medium and large 1-2 young and middleaged 700-1150 lb. cows with 100-300 lb. calves $625-790 per pair, middleaged 700-1000 lb. cows with 200-300 lb. calves $400-620.
