Fat, Feeder Lambs Steady, Meat Lower
Feeder lambs in Texas markets were mostly steady this week with Fredericksburg $2-3 higher. Midwest markets were steady. Fat lambs were firm in San Angelo and $3-5 higher in Fredericksburg and Goldthwaite. Midwest markets were steady to $2 lower.

Plains Feedlots And Packers At Odds Following Lower Week
Plains fed cattle trade was deadlocked as usual at presstime. Last week’s mostly $66 trade was $2 shy of what cattle feeders had been seeking and a dollar less than they had expected to take.

Texas Slaughter Goat Prices Find Good Going This Week
Higher prices were the rule this week in Texas slaughter goat markets. Prices were generally $2-5 better than last week. Most of the goats will be trucked to the East and West coasts to satisfy the ethnic demand for goat meat.

Feeder lambs sold steady this week, slaughter lambs firm, slaughter ewes $1-3 lower, instances $5-6 lower; nanny goats were steady and kids firm to $2 higher. Two day receipts totaled 13,596 head, around 55 percent slaughter ewes, 10 percent feeder lambs, 10 percent slaughter lambs and 25 percent goats.

eMerg/CattleinfoNet offered 2300 feeder cattle in Internet trading from Utah, Washington, Kansas and Wyoming. Delivery was current through December.

Colorado City Cattle Prices Called Steady
Most feeder cattle prices were steady, slaughter cows $1-1.50 lower, bulls steady. Receipts totaled 660 head.

Milano Feeder Steers, Heifers Trade Lower
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-4 lower, slaughter cows $2-3 lower, bulls steady. Receipts totaled 1023 head.

Most Hamilton Feeder Cattle, Lambs Steady
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows and bulls lower, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 727 head. On Monday lambs sold steady, slaughter ewes $3-6 higher, kid goats $2-4 higher, nannies steady. Receipts totaled 1521 head.

Most Brownwood Cattle Prices Termed Lower
All classes of cattle sold weak to $2 lower on receipts of 756 head.

USDA Says COOL Regs Still Are Not Ready
USDA announced last week that it will not be able publish final regulations for voluntary country of origin labeling this week, as directed by Congress.

Goldthwaite Lambs, Goats Trade Higher
Slaughter lambs sold $3-5 higher, stock goats $5-10 higher, slaughter goats $3-5 higher. Receipts totaled 1600 head.

Domestic Wool Slow, Aussie Info Lacking
wool trading remains seasonally slow and demand light to moderate for light supplies held in firm hands.

Most Mason, San Saba Feeder Cattle Softer
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $1 lower last week in Mason and San Saba, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 higher, bred stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 2819 at the two sales.

Most Lampasas Feeder Cattle Prices Steady
Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady, some over 500 pounds $1-1.50 lower, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 lower. Receipts totaled 1386 head.

Kansas Direct Feeder Steers Weak To Lower
Feeder steers sold steady to weak last week with a lower undertone late, heifers untested. The weather was warm and dry. Sales were confirmed on 4702 head.

Producers Offers 1300 Feeders On Internet
Producers Internet Auction offered 1300 feeder cattle from Florida, Texas, Alabama and Mississippi. Delivery was for October.

U.S. Meat Production 1.2% Above A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 940.3 million pounds, .7 percent more than a week ago and 1.2 percent more than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was up 3.4 percent at 34.36 billion pounds.

Billings Feeder Lambs Mixed, Ewes Higher
Feeder lambs under 90 pounds. sold steady to $1 higher, heavier weights $2-6 lower, slaughter ewes $1-3 higher. Receipts totaled 2831 head.

Coleman Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Firm
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to firm, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 lower, stock cows and pairs $10-20 lower. Receipts totaled 787 head.

Livestock Exports To Mexico Rise Sharply
Total livestock exports to Mexico for the year through September 21 were up 48 percent from last year at 601,274 head.

Fredericksburg Lambs Higher, Fat Goats Up
Feeder lambs sold $2-3 higher on a light test, slaughter lambs $3-5 higher; stock goats were steady, slaughter goats $3-5 higher. Receipts totaled 2373 head.

Fredericksburg Steers Steady, Heifers Higher
Feeder steers sold steady, heifers $1-2 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 1657 head.

Junction Sheep, Goat Prices Called Steady
Most sheep and goat prices were steady on receipts of 3416 head.

Llano Feeder Steers Mixed, Heifers Lower
Lightweight feeder steers sold steady to $4 higher, middleweights $2-3 lower, yearlings steady, heifers steady to $2 lower, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 lower. Receipts totaled 419 head.

Abilene Feeder Steers, Heifers, Cows Lower
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $1 lower, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 lower, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 1061 head.
