Feeder Lambs Move Higher, Fats Steady
Feeder lambs remain in short supply and sold on the higher side this week. Slaughter lambs were a little uneven but averaged about steady. Slaughter ewes were higher in Texas and lower on Midwest markets.

Jordan Cattle Auction’s special replacement sale saw good demand on better pairs with numerous groups going for $1000-$1275. The highest price paid for pairs in special sales the past 18 months was paid for a group of Brangus that brought $1510 per pair.

U.S. Meat Production 2.5% Above A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 917.6 million pounds, 2.4 percent less than a week earlier but 2.5 percent more than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was up 3.4 percent at 35.3 billion pounds.

Lampasas Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Lower
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-3 lower, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 lower. Receipts totaled 1159 head.

Cuero Choice Feeder Cattle Trend Higher
Feeder steers weighing 350-500 pounds were $2-5 higher, others lower, choice heifer calves higher, slaughter cows and bulls $1.50-2 lower. Receipts totaled 2057 head.

Boxed Beef Values Off $2.50 Last Week
The National Comprehensive boxed beef cutout value of all fed steer and heifer sales last week was $2.50 lower at $109.49.

Colorado City Feeder Cattle Prices Lower
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-3 lower, slaughter cows and bulls $4-5 lower. Receipts totaled 617 head.

Angelo Feeder Lambs Steady, Cattle Weak
Feeder lambs sold steady this week, slaughter lambs firm, slaughter ewes firm to $2 higher; nanny goats were $2 higher, kids $2-5 higher. Receipts totaled 9600 head, around 40 percent slaughter ewes, 10 percent slaughter lambs, five percent feeder lambs and 45 percent goats.

Most Hamilton Feeder Cattle, Lambs Steady
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows $2-4 higher, bulls steady, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 411 head. On Tuesday lambs, ewes and nannies were steady, kids $2-4 higher. Receipts totaled 1226 head.

Fredericksburg Lambs Mixed, Goats Higher
Feeder lambs sold $2-3 higher, slaughter lambs $3-5 lower; stock and slaughter goats $8-10 higher. Receipts totaled 2155 head.

Coleman Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Decline
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $1 lower, the decline on weights under 500 pounds, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 lower, stock cows and pairs $20-30 higher. Receipts totaled 1063 head.

Fredericksburg Steers Rise, Heifers Strong
Feeder steers sold $1-2 higher, heifers strong, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 lower. Receipts totaled 1926 head.

Decatur Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $1.50 higher, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 1431 head.

Goldthwaite Lambs, Goats Hold Steady
Feeder lambs were too few for a test, slaughter lambs steady; goats were steady. Receipts totaled 832 head.

Most Mason, San Saba Feeder Cattle Lower
Feeder steers sold steady to $2 lower last week in Mason and San Saba, heifers $3-4 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $2 lower, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 4874 head in the two sales.

Domestic Wool Slow, Aussie Wools Higher
Wool trading remains seasonally slow due primarily to light available supplies. Demand was moderate to good following sharp price advances in Australia over the past two weeks.

Most Brownwood Cattle Prices Trend Higher
All classes of cattle sold steady on receipts of 361 head.

Abilene Feeder Steers, Heifers Steady To Up
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $1 higher, the advance on weights over 500 pounds, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 higher, stock cows and pairs $10-15 higher. Receipts totaled 831 head.

Llano Feeder Steers, Heifers Trade Steady
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows and bulls $2 higher. Receipts totaled 505 head.

Junction Slaughter Goats Move Higher
Slaughter meat type goats sold $6-10 higher, other sheep and goats steady. Receipts totaled 2153 head.

Most Milano Cattle Prices Termed Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 higher, slaughter cows $1-2 higher, bulls steady. Receipts totaled 966 head.
