Boxed Beef Values
Off $2.50 Last Week

DES MOINES, Iowa —(USDA)— The National Comprehensive boxed beef cutout value of all fed steer and heifer sales last week was $2.50 lower at $109.49.

Primal ribs were off $5.35 at $169.74, chucks off $1.34 at $78.37, rounds off 69 cents at $89.91, loins off $7.45 at $158.78, briskets up 11 cents at $56.78, short plates off $1.46 at $57.20, and flanks off $1.51 at $61.83.

The reported volume was 5905 loads, including 5645 domestic and 260 exports. Quality grades were .7 percent Prime, 38.6 percent Choice, 25.9 percent Select and 34.8 percent ungraded.

Negotiated sales included 2584 loads for delivery within 21 days and 739 loads over 21 days; formula sales totaled 2152 loads and forward contracts 430 loads.
