Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in Oklahoma for January
delivery four loads of No. 1½ crossbred steers to weigh 650 pounds at
$82.50, also one load of No. 1 English and exotic cross heifers to
weigh 675 at $79 and a load of similar heifers to weigh 650 at $78; in
Central Texas for current delivery two loads of similar steers
weighing 740 at $79 and a load of heifer mates weighing 675 at $76.
USDA reports 5350 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma
range, including: for May 2003 delivery medium and large No. 1 steers
to weigh 750 pounds at $75; for current delivery similar steers
weighing 650-725 pounds at $82-85 and 750-800 pounds at $78-80;
similar heifers weighing 625-700 at $77-79.
Northwest direct feeder cattle trade as confirmed by USDA totaled
7300 head, all for current delivery. Medium and large No. 1-2 steers
weighing 450-500 pounds brought $93.50-94 f.o.b. Oregon, 500-600
pounds $76-84 f.o.b. Oregon and Idaho, 600-650 pounds $75-81 f.o.b.
Oregon, Idaho and Washington, $82-83 weaned f.o.b. Washington, 700
pounds $74.50 f.o.b. Washington, 850 pounds $72-74 f.o.b. Washington,
and 900-925 pounds $74 f.o.b. Idaho; similar heifers weighing 450-500
pounds were $76-83 f.o.b. Idaho and Oregon, 500-600 pounds $70-78
f.o.b. Oregon, Idaho and Washington, 750-800 pounds $72 f.o.b.
Washington, and 800-900 pounds $70-72.50 f.o.b. Washington and Idaho.
USDA reports 1700 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Colorado
range, all for current delivery, including 265 head of medium and
large No. 1 steers weighing 485 pounds at $94.70 delivered, 615
similar steers weighing 700-730 at $82.40-84.20 delivered, 130 steers
weighing 780 at $81.50 delivered, 160 steers weighing 800 at $79.25
delivered, and 80 steers weighing 635 at $80 f.o.b.; 240 similar
heifers weighing 675 pounds were $78 delivered and 85 head weighing
610 pounds $76 f.o.b.
