Boxed Beef Values
Up $1.42 Last Week

DES MOINES, Iowa —(USDA)— The national comprehensive boxed beef cutout value for all fed steer and heifer sales last week was $1.42 higher at $107.08.

Primal ribs were up $5.83 at $177.22, chucks up $2.10 at $82.12, rounds up $1.76 at $99.06, loins down $.36 at $151.97, briskets up $.13 at $57.12, short plates off $1.38 at $56.24, and flanks off $1.62 at $56.96.

The reported volume was 6257 loads, including 5499 domestic and 748 imported. Quality grades were 54 loads Prime, 2147 loads Choice, 1816 loads Select and 2230 loads ungraded.

Negotiated sales were 2839 loads for delivery within 21 days, 1072 loads over 21 days; formula sales totaled 2236 loads and forward contracts 100 loads.
