Dick Brummett, of Singer Brummett Cattle Company, Amarillo, bought,
from Johnny Kemp of Tucumcari, 500 steer yearlings weighing 700 pounds
at $22.50; these were delivered October 25. He also brought, from Don
Fleming of Tucumcari, 180 steer yearlings weighing 650 and 730 pounds
at $22.50 and $23.50; these were delivered October 26.

Arthur Letts, Amarillo, bought 364 mixed calves and short age
yearlings weighing 475 pounds in eastern New Mexico at $21.50 and
$23.50 for heifers and steers, respectively; these were delivered
October 24.

Malcomb Madera of Quemado, New Mexico, sold 200 steer yearlings,
expected to weigh 550 to 600 pounds, at 23 cents a pound to Kansas
buyers for delivery this week.

Babbitt Brothers of Flagstaff, Arizona, sold 850 calves at $27.75
and 1050 steer yearlings at $25 to Joe Espy of Fort Davis, Texas, for
November 1 to 15 delivery.

Emmett Knutson of Gruver, Texas, last week bought 400 steer calves
weighing about 415 pounds from Williams and Martin of Lovington, New
Mexico, at 26 cents a pound.

Jack Hooten of Amarillo sold 66 steer yearlings weighing 831 pounds
to Tom Cobb of Tulia, Texas, at $23, October 24 delivery; also 67
steer yearlings weighing 725 pounds at $23 and 45 plain steers
weighing 884 at $19, October 24 to 28 delivery.

A.E. (Lonnie) Gates of Laredo sold, off a ranch near Boise City,
Okla., 300 short age mixed calves at $70 per head for delivery this
week to Jack Renfro of Hereford, Texas. He also sold Renfro 1200 good
age stocker cows on the ranch at $165 per head, 55 bulls at $300 per
head, and 100 heifer yearlings at $100 per head.

Walter Fogerson of Clovis, N.M., sold 62 mixed calves weighing 431
pounds at $22 and $24 and delivered them Oct. 20 to an Amarillo buyer.

Don Webb of Faith, S.D., sold 300 two year-old ewes to Claud Olson,
Ludlow, S.D., at $26 per head, delivered Oct. 18. He also sold 300
head of three year-old ewes at $24 per head to a North Dakota buyer.

Ben Keele of Tatum, N.M., bought 100 cows, 24 with calves and the
rest springers, three to five years old, at $150 per cow from Lillard
Dale of Lovington, delivered Oct. 23.

Andy Hamilton of Clayton, N.M., sold 200 steer yearlings averaging
715 pounds at $21 with three percent shrink to Rue Wharton, Dalhart,
Texas; these were delivered Oct. 24 and went to Iowa feeders.

John Spurlock of John Clay & Co., Ogden, bought about 3500 fed
lambs last week in the Idaho Falls area for eastern shipment. Some
went to Wilson in Denver at $20.50. Clipped lambs in the Idaho Falls
area have been selling recently at $19.25 to $19.50, and some feeders
are reported to have refused $20.50 for wooled lambs.

Howard Hampton of Lubbock sold, off his Logan, N.M., ranch, 259
choice Hereford steer calves averaging 450 pounds at $30 and delivered
them last week to Ray Barr of Amarillo.

John Breckenridge of Twin Falls, Idaho, reports that some 10
carloads of fed lambs from that area have sold during the past week or
so to West Coast buyers, which have been the most active bidders
lately. Bulk of the wooled lambs sold at $20.50 cwt.

Howard Robertson of Nara Visa, N.M., sold 215 Angus-Hereford
crossbred heifer and steer calves weighing 426 and 458 at $28 and $30
and delivered them Oct. 17 to a Clayton buyer.

Gene Payne of Plains, Texas, sold 175 choice steer calves expected
to weigh about 400 pounds at $31 for delivery the last of this week to
Ray Barber of Amarillo for shipment on Illinois order.

Busy Miss Wool, Carolyn Barre of Yoakum, Texas, visited Denver last
week and helped the wool industry receive considerable publicity as
she appeared at the Denver stockyards, fashion shows and luncheons.

Farris Feedlot at Hart sold 110 mostly choice 1108-pound steers at
$26.25 and delivered them to a South Texas packer.

weighing about 700 pounds at $24 in the McLean area.

F.L. Hommel of Clarendon sold a load of choice 1187-pound steers at
$26.50 and delivered them to Armour & Co., Fort Worth.

Uvalde Producers Wool & Mohair and Kinney County Wool &
Mohair Co., Brackettville, both managed by Al Dishman of Uvalde, sold
about 150,000 pounds of adult mohair, most of it fall clip at 32 cents
per pound but with some spring hair, at 35 cents.

Spurlock Cattle Co., Panhandle, sold 330 good 680-700 pound heifers
at $25 to an out-of-state packer.

The Concho Hereford Assn. annual bull sale averaged a record $1046
per head on 91 bulls. Top price was $2150, paid by P.H. Coates, Big
Lake, for the champion bull consigned by Rocking Chair Ranch, Menard.

horse of the year for a record sixth season by the Rodeo Cowboys Assn.
He is owned by the Beutler Bros. & Cervi stock contracting
