Boxed Beef Values
Up $1.85 Last Week

DES MOINES —(USDA)— The national boxed beef cutout value of all fed steers and heifers sold last week showed an increase of $1.85 at $108.93.

Primal ribs were up $2.19 at $179.41, chucks up 95 cents at $83.07, rounds up 47 cents at $99.53, loins up $5.54 at $157.51, briskets down 11 cents at $57.01, short plates up 65 cents at $56.89 and flanks up nine cents at $57.05.

Sales totaled 5528 loads, including 4984 domestic and 544 export. There were 60 loads Prime, 1883 loads Choice, 1386 loads Select and 2199 loads ungraded, including cuts, trims and grinds.

There were 2603 loads of negotiated sales for delivery within 21 days, 855 loads negotiated for over 21 days, 1932 loads of formula sales and 138 forward contract sales.
