"Whereas we believe that interference with cloud formations has deprived New Mexico of needed normal moisture.

Pokin' Fun
It was just too hot in South Texas for the deer to be moving like they usually do, and after awhile the hunters started getting a little anxious. "Those deer have such big, beautiful brown eyes. They are so soft and gentle. They never hurt anybody. They're gonna have to do something real blatant before I shoot one of 'em ... like walkin' across our lease."

Shortgrass Country
Way back, we scheduled heifer calving to hit after the leaves fell from the mesquites. As the land became a solid thicket, we shifted to bringing the heavies to a trap to be penned every night. By opening a calving hospital, we stopped losing cows and started losing sleep.

On The Edge Of Common Sense
I was in a western store when a gentleman stepped up to the counter and asked me which cap that he was holding looked better. I asked if he was a baseball player, a member of a rap group, or a corn farmer. He said none of the above; he was a horseman. I said, "Follow me," and escorted him to the man behind the bench, shaping hats.

Its The Pitts
Just because a chicken wears wings doesn't mean it can soar like an eagle, and calling a judge or politician "honorable sir" doesn't necessarily mean they're trustworthy. And just because a person wears flip-flops on his feet instead of boots doesn't mean he can't be a cowboy. Although I think it would complicate wearing spurs.

Deer season is about a third of the way over here in West Texas. On my lease in Coke County, this is the first year in the past five that we’ve had winter wheat up and abundant enough to serve as a deer magnet. And a magnet it is; you can see 30 or more deer on the field as darkness veils the countryside. That’s more deer than I thought were on the entire 2400-acre lease five years ago.

The Computer& The Cowboy
I don’t know how to use everything that my computer can do and I have found that others have the same problem.
