Feeder and fat lambs sold steady for the most part around
the country this week. There was a little weakness on feeders in some
Texas markets.

27. A $3 per head entry fee is payable upon delivery.

Superior Livestock Auction offered around 31,700 feeder
cattle and bred stock in their regularly scheduled video sale.
Consignments were from 19 states. Demand was good and trade active.

U.S. Meat Production 2.1%
Above A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week
was estimated at 946.8 million pounds, 20.7 percent more than the
previous holiday week and 2.1 percent more than a year ago. Cumulative
meat production for the year to date was down .5 percent at 19.82
billion pounds.

Slaughter cattle sold steady across the country last week in
direct trading, dressed sales steady to $1 lower.

Feeder lambs sold weak to $3 lower this week, slaughter
lambs steady, slaughter ewes uneven, mostly steady, kid goats firm to
$2 higher, instances $5-10 higher on weights under 40 pounds, nannies
steady. Receipts totaled 7948 head, around 30 percent slaughter ewes,
five percent slaughter lambs, 10 percent feeder lambs and 55 balance
goats.

Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 higher, slaughter cows
and bulls $1-2 lower. Receipts totaled 678 head.

higher, slaughter goats $2-3 higher. Receipts totaled 2427 head.

Steady, Calves Higher
Feeder steer and heifer yearlings sold steady, calves steady
to $3 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $2 lower, stock cows and pairs
steady. Receipts totaled 250 head.

Feeder steers sold $2-4 higher, heifers $1-3 higher,
slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 380 head.

cows and bulls $2-4 lower. Receipts totaled 1274 head.

Feeder steers sold steady to $2 higher, the greatest advance
on weights over 600 pounds, heifers steady, slaughter cows and bulls
$1-2 lower. Receipts totaled 795 head.

slaughter cows and bulls $3 lower. Receipts totaled 1024 head.
Boxed Beef Values Edge
Upward Again
The national comprehensive boxed beef cutout report on all
fed steers and heifers sold last week edged up $.43 to $136.62.

Lambs sold higher Monday, ewes steady, kids and nannies
steady. Receipts totaled 1511 head. On Tuesday all cattle classes sold
steady on receipts of 217 head.

Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 higher,
slaughter cows $3-4 lower, bulls $2.50-3.50 lower. Receipts totaled
934 head.

Lambs Steady, Fats Up
Feeder lambs sold steady, slaughter lambs steady except
lightweights $4-5 higher, stock goats generally steady to firm,
slaughter goats $5-7 higher. Receipts totaled 2699 head.
Kansas Direct Feeder
Steers, Heifers Firm
Feeders steers sold firm last week in Kansas direct trade,
heifers steady to firm in a limited test. Temperatures were cool and
western Kansas received 2-4 inches of rain, causing most hay producers
many problems. Sales were confirmed on 10,207 head.

Goats Trend Lower
Sheep classes sold steady, meat type kids steady to $1
lower, nannies $2-5 higher, billies and muttons $1-2 higher, Angoras
steady. Receipts totaled 2343 head.
Decatur Feeder Steer,
Heifer Trends Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-5 higher, slaughter cows
and bulls $2-3 lower, stock cows higher, pairs steady. Receipts
totaled 1290 head.
Colorado City Feeder
Cattle Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-3 higher, slaughter cows
and bulls $2-4 lower, stock cows and pairs $10-20 higher. Receipts
totaled 340 head.
Producers Internet Offers
1000 Cattle
Producers Internet Auction offered 1000 feeder cattle from
Florida and Mississippi. Delivery was current through September.
Mason, San Saba Feeder
Steers, Heifers Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 higher last week
in Mason and San Saba, slaughter cows and bulls $2-4 lower, stock cows
and pairs $25-50 higher. Receipts totaled 5352 head, including a
special feeder sale and bull sale.
