Feeder Lambs Mixed, Fats Mostly Lower
Feeder lambs remain in short supply around the country and price structures frequently vary according to the available supply. San Angelo was a $4-6 lower while Fredericksburg was $3-5 higher. Slaughter lambs were generally weaker, though the lightweight killers in Fredericksburg followed the feeder market higher.

Texas Feeders Move Big Batch Of Fed Cattle At Lower Price
Texas Panhandle cattle feeders bit the bullet early this week and gave up another dollar on top of last week’s disappointing decline. At presstime Wednesday their counterparts to the north were enjoying the fruits of playing hard to get, a $2 premium for a day’s patience.

Texas Slaughter Kid Goats Find Mostly Steady Prices This Week
Slaughter meat type kid goats in Texas markets found fairly stable prices this week. Junction was an exception at $4-8 higher, and Texas direct sales were weak to $2 lower last week.

Nation’s Feeder Cattle Prices Higher On Fairly Tight Supply
Yearling feeder steers and heifers sold $1-3 higher across the country last week on tight supplies and good demand as feedlots scrambled to fill empty pens. Auction receipts were light but the large number of buyers on hand made it seem like late fall.

Angelo Lambs Lower, Feeder Cattle Higher
Feeder lambs sold $4-6 lower, slaughter lambs $4-5 lower, slaughter ewes unevenly weak to $5 higher, the greatest advance on fleshy out of state kinds; nanny goats sold $3-5 lower, kids mostly steady, instances $3-6 lower on plainer quality kinds. Two day receipts totaled 11,738 head, around 30 percent slaughter ewes, 10 percent slaughter lambs, five percent feeder lambs and 55 percent goats.

Producers Internet Offers 1900 Cattle
Producers Internet Auction offered 1900 feeder cattle from Florida, Georgia and Texas in their regular sale. Delivery was current through November.

Fredericksburg Feeder Steers, Heifers Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-4 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 higher. Receipts totaled 1044 head.

Billings Feeder Lambs Decline, Ewes Higher
Feeder lambs sold $3-7 lower this week in light demand, slaughter ewes steady to $2 higher. Receipts totaled 1944 head.

Most Mason, San Saba Feeder Cattle Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-5 higher last week in Mason and San Saba, slaughter cows and bulls $3-5 higher, stock cows and pairs strong. Receipts totaled 2454 head, including a special feeder sale and annual Deep Creek F-1 heifer sale.

Brownwood Lightweight Feeder Steers Lower
Lightweight feeder steers sold $2-4 lower, other weights of steers and heifers steady. Receipts totaled 468 head.

Boxed Beef Values Edge Slightly Higher
The national comprehensive boxed beef cutout report on all fed steers and heifers sold last week moved up 72 cents to $126.20, the first price rise in five weeks.

Llano Feeder Steers Steady, Heifers Higher
Feeder steers sold fully steady, heifers steady to $2 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 471 head.

Colorado City Feeder Cattle Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-4 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 higher, stock cows and pairs $100-300 higher. Receipts totaled 1200 head.

Domestic Wool Slow, Aussie Markets Closed
Wool trading remained slow again last week under light demand. Supplies were light to moderate. Summer holiday season vacations, limited export demand, a recess in Australian markets for several weeks and rising currency markets all contributed to lack of trading.

Goldthwaite Feeder Lambs Few, Fats Off
Feeder lambs were scarce, lightweight slaughter lambs $4-5 lower; goats were steady to firm. Receipts totaled 3254 head.

Most Lampasas Cattle Prices Called Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-4 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $1-3 higher. Receipts totaled 1089 head.

U.S. Meat Production 1.5% Above A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 906.9 million pounds, 19 percent more than the previous holiday-shortened week and 1.5 percent more than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was down .3 percent at 24.28 million pounds.

Most Milano Cattle Prices Termed Lower
Feeder steers sold steady to $3 lower, the decline on weights over 400 pounds, heifers steady to weak, slaughter cows and bulls $1-3 lower. Receipts totaled 913 head.

Most Hamilton Goats Higher, Lambs Lower
Lambs sold lower Monday, ewes steady, kid goats $1-3 higher and nannies higher. Receipts totaled 1727 head. Tuesday all cattle classes sold steady on receipts of 461 head.

Decatur Yearlings Steady, Calves Lower
Feeder steer and heifer yearlings sold steady to slightly lower, calves $1-1.50 lower, slaughter cows and bulls strong, stock cows and pairs steady to strong. Receipts totaled 1815 head.

Cuero Lightweight Cattle Up Sharply
Feeder steers sold $1-7 higher, weights under 300 pounds $10-20 higher, heifers higher, slaughter cows $1-2 higher, bulls $2.50-3 higher. Receipts totaled 1618 head.

Abilene Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $2 lower, stock cows and pairs $10-15 lower. Receipts totaled 938 head.

Coleman Feeder Steers, Heifers Trade Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-3 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady to firm. Receipts totaled 1583 head.

Kansas Direct Feeder Steers, Heifers Higher
Feeder steers sold $1-2 higher in Kansas direct trade last week, heifers firm to $2 higher. The weather has been hot in the western area with severe thunderstorms in the south central. Sales were confirmed on 22,234 head.
