Brownwood Yearlings
Higher, Calves Steady

BROWNWOOD —(Aug. 26)— Yearling feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $3 higher, the greatest advance on heifers, calves steady, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows and pairs $50 higher. Receipts totaled 805 head.

Representative sales: Bob Fry, Fort Worth, four black steers, 605 lbs. $94; two black heifers, 700 lbs. $85; W.W. Means, Brookesmith, four Charolais heifers, 605 lbs. $87; Roland Nichols, Early, black cow, 1235 lbs. $44.50; D.M. Quimby, Abilene, black steer, 685 lbs. $91; Brooks Ribble, May, black steer, 605 lbs. $96; Phil Richey, Brownwood, black steer, 540 lbs. $104; black steer, 70 lbs. $94; J.H. Beck, May, black bull, 2085 lbs. $55; Deer Creek Ranch, Rising Star, eight black whiteface cows with calves, 1050 lbs. $970 per head; Carlton Hampton, Brownwood, black cow, 1090 lbs. $780.
