Feeder Lambs Mixed, Fats Move Higher
Feeder lambs were a little mixed around the country this week. Texas markets found lambs steady to weak while Midwest markets were steady to $3 higher and Billings was $10-12 higher. Slaughter lambs found a little firmness with San Angelo $1 higher, Fredericksburg $3-5 higher and Midwest markets steady to $2 higher. Slaughter ewes were steady to $2 higher.

Plains Fed Cattle Still Moving, Prices A Little Stronger Yet
Heads are still spinning in the cattle trade as prices that astounded everyone by breaking past the $90 barrier last week continue to strengthen.

Cuero Feeder Calves, Yearlings Sell Higher
Feeder calves and yearlings sold steady to $2 higher, over 700 pounds much higher, slaughter cows and bulls strong. Receipts totaled 2114 head.

Decatur Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Uneven
Better quality feeder steers sold a little higher, plainer kinds weak, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2.50 higher, stock cows and pairs higher. Receipts totaled 1634 head.

Domestic Wool Untried, Aussie Prices Decline
Domestic wool trading remained at a seasonal standstill last week on light supplies. Demand and seller interest were light to moderate.

U.S. Meat Production 2.2% Above A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 942.1 million pounds, 14.6 percent more than the previous week’s holiday-shortened period and 2.2 percent more than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was down .3 percent at 32.4 billion pounds.

Abilene Lightweight Steers, Heifers Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 higher, the advance on weights under 500 pounds, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows steady. Receipts totaled 1413 head.

Fredericksburg Feeder Lambs, Goats Steady
Feeder lambs sold steady, slaughter lambs $3-5 higher, except lightweight steady, goats classes were steady. Receipts totaled 3082 head.

Hamilton Sheep, Goat, Cattle Classes Steady
All sheep and goats sold steady Monday on receipts of 1652 head. All cattle classes sold steady as well Tuesday on receipts of 403 head.

Llano Feeder Cattle Prices Called Steady
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows and bulls $2-4 higher. Receipts totaled 669 head.

Boxed Beef Values Set New Record High
The national comprehensive boxed beef cutout report on all fed steers and heifers sold last week jumped $6.70 to $145.21, a new record high for the report.

Milano Feeder Steers, Heifers Trade Higher
Feeder steers sold $1-3 higher, heifers steady to $2 higher, the advance on weights over 500 pounds, slaughter cows steady to firm, bulls steady. Receipts totaled 1785 head.

Most Goldthwaite Sheep, Goats Steady
Slaughter lambs sold steady, stock and slaughter goats steady to firm. Receipts totaled 2220 head.

Junction Sheep Steady, Meat Type Goats Mixed
All sheep classes sold steady, Angora nannies $2-4 higher, others steady, meat type kids steady, small kids $2-4 lower, nannies steady to $2 lower. Receipts totaled 2462 head.

Fredericksburg Feeder Steers, Heifers Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $3 higher. Receipts totaled 2187 head.

Producers Internet Offers 1600 Cattle
Producers Internet Auction offered 1600 feeder cattle from Florida in their regularly scheduled sale.

Most Lampasas Cattle Prices Called Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-3 higher, some under 350 pounds $4 higher, slaughter cows $3-4 higher, bulls $.50-1 higher. Receipts totaled 1680 head.
