occurred Tuesday at $3-4 higher prices with clean-up trades
progressively higher each trading session. Closing clean-up trades

Feeder lambs sold firm in a light test this week, slaughter
lambs firm, slaughter ewes steady in a light test; nanny goats were
firm to $2 higher and kids $10 higher. Rain-shortened receipts totaled
4215 head, around 20 percent slaughter ewes, 10 percent feeder lambs,
five percent slaughter lambs, and 65 percent goats.

Cattle Sales Higher
Feeder steers and heifers moving direct in Kansas last week
sold firm to $2 higher. The weather was cool to mild with light
moisture in western Kansas. Sales were confirmed on 15,945 head.
Mason, San Saba Feeder
Cattle Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-4 higher in Mason and San
Saba last week, slaughter cows and bulls $4-6 higher, stock cows and
pairs steady. Receipts totaled 1645 at the two sales.
Fredericksburg Feeder
Cattle Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-3 higher, slaughter cows
and bulls $4-5 higher. Receipts totaled 1421 head.
U.S. Meat Production 6.3%
Below A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week
was estimated at 887.6 million pounds, .6 percent less than a week
earlier and 6.3 percent less than a year ago. Cumulative meat
production for the year to date was down .6 percent at 36.04 billion
pounds.

$3-8 higher, bulls $4-6 higher. Receipts totaled 813 head.

Steer, Heifer Prices Steady
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows and
bulls $2-4 higher, stock cows and pairs $25 higher. Receipts totaled
460 head.

Feeder Lambs Higher
Lightweight feeder lambs sold $5-8 higher, 70-90 pounds $2-4
higher, weights over 90 pounds mostly steady, slaughter ewes steady to
$2 higher. Receipts totaled 2936 head.
