POLO PONIES were among the most
lucrative exports of Texas ranches at one time. The sport was a
favorite of Will Rogers and other celebrities, kings, princes,
cavalrymen and not a few cowboys. Even a recently appointed federal
judge from West Texas has been said to swing a mean mallet. These
