Loyd Branderburg of Willard, New Mexico, sold 100 steer calves to Guy Powell of Cherokee, Oklahoma, at $21 cwt., December 7 delivery, through John Wright of Fort Sumner, New Mexico.

R.C. Johnson & Son of Dalhart bought 85 choice stocker steer calves weighing 428 pounds from Webb Wharton of Stratford at $20.25, December 3 delivery.

Cecil Meador of Eldorado is reported to have sold 100 two year-old steers at 17 cents a pound to Robert Wheeless of Marfa, who bought them on order for shipment to Cornbelt feeders.

George Simms of Panhandle, Texas, sold 119 coming two year-old steers weighing 796 pounds at $18 cwt., December 5 delivery, to Bob Mayer of Denver.

Dee Graham of Amarillo bought, from Biggs Horn of White Deer, Texas, three loads of Angus steers weighing around 1000 pounds out of feedlots at 20 cents per pound, December 9 delivery.

Ray Logsdon of Hollis, Oklahoma, and Fontayne Elmore of Clarendon, Texas, bought one load of mixed calves averaging 505 pounds at $17 straight across from J.T. Martin of Paducah, Texas.

Lem Jones of Junction bought three carloads of mixed lambs on order to Kansas at 17 cents a pound.

John Birdwell, Brinkman, Okla., recently sold and delivered 80 mixed calves weighing 380 pounds at $33 straight to Bob Sherrod of McLean, Texas.

Mid-West Feed Yards, San Angelo, this week bought a load of wooled feeder lambs averaging 82 pounds at $18.50, immediate delivery.

Glen Hartsell of Texline sold two loads of heifer yearlings averaging 612 pounds at $25.50 and delivered them this week to Cecil Dillinger of Clayton, N.M.

Fred Ball of San Angelo this week sold a string of good solidmouth ewes and lambs at $27.50 per pair for Jan. 1 delivery.

Roger Brumley, Hereford, bought a load of steer calves weighing 450 pounds at $34 in the Grady, N.M. area, delivered this week.

Ed Castleberry of Dalhart sold, off his ranch at Romero, 100 steer calves weighing about 350 pounds at $24 for delivery this week to Orville Burtis of Kansas City.

Jack Funderburg of Amarillo sold 83 cows described as good quality and young ages, with a few calves on them, at $135 per head, delivered last week to Sloan Osborne of Friona.

Charlie Davis of Bushland, Texas, (10 miles west of Amarillo) sold 90 Angus and Angford steers weighing 650-700 pounds at $20 for delivery this week to a local feeder.

Dale Schuman of Dumas, Texas, sold 60 mixed breed steers averaging 812 pounds net at $18 and delivered them last weekend to an Oklahoma feeder.

David McBryde of Stratford, Texas, sold 140 heifer yearlings expected to average 650 pounds at $18.75 for Dec. 15 delivery to a Colorado feeder.

R.E. Womble, Stinnett, bought 123 black baldface and a few Hereford heifer and steer calves weighing 358 and 365 pounds at $27 and $31 from Charlie Fry, Hereford.

Randall County Feed Yard, Amarillo, sold 476 steers weighing 1030 pounds, grading 75 percent choice, at $27.75 to a Texas packer.

Ben Floersheim and his son Donald carry on the tradition of the elder Sol Floersheim, on the Jaritas Ranch east of Springer, N.M., who believed calves should be born at the same time that deer and antelope on the ranch have their young. Thus, April calves were weaned last week; the steers, weighing about 375, have been contracted to Bob Froehlich of Rockford, Ill., for January delivery.

Cluck Cattle Co., Dimmitt, sold 200 heifers weighing 875 pounds, grading 70 percent choice, at $26 to a Tennessee packer.

J.W. Whitaker, Gruver, sold 500 Hereford, Angus and black baldface steer calves weighing 300-320 at $105 per head to a Gruver buyer.

Charlie Winters, Clovis, representing Texas Livestock Marketing Assn., Fort Worth, bought and received in the Clovis area 160 No. 1 Okie steer yearlings weighing 700 pounds at $48.50.

Dr. Richard McDonald is the new executive vice president of the Texas Cattle Feeders Assn. He succeeds Charles E. Ball, who retired last week. McDonald has been a TCFA staff member 15 years.

Most of the adult mohair in Texas has been sold, late sales 95 cents to $1. A large share of the kid hair, probably 65 percent, has also sold.

Si Watkins, Marlin, sold out of Central Oklahoma to an Austin buyer 88 Brahman cross cow-calf pairs with calves to 250 pounds at $965 per pair; to a Dewey, Okla. buyer 59 Brangus 3-6 year-old cows with 13 calves at $945 per cow; to a Coahoma, Texas buyer 54 Brahman cross 3-6 year-old cows with six calves, the balance heavy bred, weighing 1000 pounds at $895.

Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in the Texas Panhandle for March delivery three loads of No. 1 English and exotic cross steers to weigh 700 pounds at $71.

Recent sales of fat lambs in Texas moving direct from feedlots to packers were at $60-63. Colorado quoted fats $59-65, and 140-150 pound Idaho lambs brought $56-58.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold on a delivered basis to Texas Panhandle buyers one load of No. 1 and better English and English cross steers and bulls weighing 479 pounds at $81.03, also a load of No. 1½ to toppy No. 2 English and English-Brahman cross cutting bulls in medium to heavy flesh and weighing 576 at $59.
