Feeder steers and heifers sold steady in Mason and San Saba for
the first sales of the new year, yearlings $2-4 lower, slaughter cows
and bulls $3-4 lower. Receipts totaled 687 head at the two sales. Steers:
choice lightweight calves $110-141, mediumweight $90-117, heavyweight
$80-90; lightweight yearlings $85-90, heavyweight $78-88. Heifers:
choice lightweight calves $100-127, mediumweight $85-98, heavyweight
$70-78; lightweight yearlings $80-85, heavyweight $72-78. Slaughter
cows: high dressing $48-55, medium $44-47, low $39-43; high dressing
bulls $58-66.50, medium $53-57, low $48-53; heiferettes and young
stock cows $51-60, choice bred cows $750-830 per head, medium to good
$700-760, aged $460-690; medium to good cows with calves $650-760,
