Abilene Feeder Steers
Firm, Heifers Steady  

            ABILENE —(TDA-Jan. 27)— Feeder steers sold steady to firm, heifers steady, slaughter cows $1-2 lower, bulls steady to $1 lower, stock cows and pairs $10-20 higher. Receipts totaled 1057 head.

            Steers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $103-109, few to $131, 400-500 lbs. $101-125, 500-600 lbs. $93-109, 600-700 lbs. $88-97, 700-800 lbs. $81-88.50, 800-900 lbs. $80-85; medium and large No. 2 400-500 lbs. $94-101, 500-600 lbs. $88-96, 600-700 lbs. $86-94, 700-800 lbs. $74-80.

            Heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $117-123, few to $130, 300-400 lbs. $103-116, 400-500 lbs. $95-113, 500-600 lbs. $96-104, 600-700 lbs. $84-95, 700-800 lbs. $81-85,50; medium and large No. 2 300-400 lbs. $96-101, 400-500 lbs. $88-94.50, 500-600 lbs. $85-93, 600-700 lbs. $81.50-87, 700-800 lbs. $72-80.

            Slaughter cows: breakers $39-42.75, boners $42-46, high dressing to $49, lean 1000-1200 lbs. $38-45, 800-1000 lbs. $40-47.50; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $49.50-67.

            Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young and middleaged 800-1500 lbs. 1-8 months bred $600-820 per head, aged 950-1400 lbs. 4-7 months bred $430-680; medium and large 1-2 young and middleaged 1000-1500 lb. cows with 150-280 lb. calves $660-900 per pair.
