Angelo Lambs Steady,
Feeder Cattle Higher
 

SAN ANGELO —(USDA)— Lambs going on feeder accounts were limited this week as most went for slaughter; slaughter lambs were steady, slaughter ewes firm to $3 higher; nanny goats sold firm to $4 higher, kids weak to $3 lower, instances $5 lower. Receipts totaled 9403 head, around 15 percent slaughter ewes, 15 percent slaughter lambs, five percent feeder lambs and 65 percent goats.

Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 higher last week, slaughter cows firm to $2 higher, bulls $2-3 higher, stock cows and pairs poorly tested. Receipts totaled 1650 head, around 80 percent feeders, 15 percent slaughter cows and bulls and five percent stock cows and pairs.

Feeder lambs: medium and large 1-2 82 lbs. $124.50, 105-110 lbs. $104.50-105.

Slaughter lambs: choice 2-3 shorn and wooled 90-135 lbs. $94-104, few $104-108, good and choice 1-2 50-60 lbs. $135-146, 60-70 lbs. $135-146, set $150, 80-90 lbs. $120-133, set $140, 90-110 lbs. $113-123; good 2-3 slaughter ewes $50-55, utility and good 1-3 $54-65, utility 1-2 $44-54, cull and utility 1-2 $40-45, bucks $45-63.
