Goats Trend Higher  

GOLDTHWAITE —(TDA-Jan. 23)— Slaughter lambs sold steady to firm, lightweights $8-10 higher, slaughter goats $3-5 higher. Receipts totaled 3173 head.

Sheep: choice and prime slaughter lambs 90-145 lbs. $90-106, few $110-116, 50-85 lbs. $120-148; good slaughter ewes 100-160 lbs. $50-56, bucks 150-225 lbs. $45-67; stock bucks $195 per head; stock Barbado ewes $50-70, few 80-100 lbs. $80-89, bucks $100-200; ewes with lambs $30-36 each; slaughter lambs 15-40 lbs. $117-137, 40-80 lbs. $92-129, ewes 60-115 lbs. $54-74.

Goats: selection 1 meat type slaughter kids 20-45 lbs. $120-136, 45-60 lbs. $125-137, 60-80 lbs. $124-136, few $139, selection 2 60-80 lbs. $112-116, nannies 60-130 lbs. $60-78.50, few lightweights $80-87, billies 95-250 lbs. $85-110, few lightweights $118-127, selection 1 muttons 80-120 lbs. $125-140; selection 1 stock nannies $85-135 per head, selection 2 $65-85; nannies with kids $27-38 each; billies 95-150 lbs. $97-127.50; slaughter Angora nannies 110 lbs. $75 cwt.
