Abilene Feeder Steer,
Heifer Prices Higher

ABILENE —(TDA-March 9)— Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-4 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $2 higher. Receipts totaled 1210 head.

Steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $120-127, few to $150, 300-400 lbs. $110-117, 400-500 lbs. $105-112, 500-600 lbs. $95-105, 600-700 lbs. $88-98.

Heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $115-125, 300-400 lbs. $107-115, 400-500 lbs. $95-105, 500-600 lbs. $85-95, 600-700 lbs. $82-90.

Slaughter cows: breakers $48-54, boners $45-52, high dressing to $54, lean 800-1000 lbs. $43-49, under 800 lbs. $38-44; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2200 lbs. $54-58, high dressing $60-65.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young and middleaged 800-1400 lbs. 2-8 months bred $600-850 per head; medium and large 1-2 young and middleaged 800-1400 lb. cows with 100-250 lb. calves $800-950 per pair.
