Most Abilene Cattle
Prices Called Higher

ABILENE —(TDA-March 23)— Feeder steer and heifer calves sold $1-2 higher, yearlings steady to firm, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 higher, stock cows and pairs $20-40 higher. Receipts totaled 889 head.

Steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $121-127, few to $162, 300-400 lbs. $110-143, 400-500 lbs. $106-132, 500-600 lbs. $98-113, 600-700 lbs. $92-101, 700-800 lbs. $84.50-93; medium and large No. 2 300-400 lbs. $101-108, 400-500 lbs. $96-105, 500-600 lbs. $93-100, 600-700 lbs. $86-91.

Heifers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $106-113, few to $135, 400-500 lbs. $101-113, 500-600 lbs. $96-107, 600-700 lbs. $89-98, 800-900 lbs. $83.50-90.50; medium and large No. 2 400-500 lbs. $93-100, 500-600 lbs. $89-96, 600-700 lbs. $83-89.

Slaughter cows: boners $43.50-49.50, high dressing to $54, lean $39-46.50; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $55-66.50.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young and middleaged 850-1400 lbs. 2-8 months bred, $550-790 per head, aged 1000-1250 lbs. 6-8 months bred $470-650; medium and large 1-2 young and middleaged 800-1700 lb. cows with 150-400 lb. calves $700-1040 per pair.
