Lower, Cattle Firm

SAN ANGELO —(USDA)— Feeder lambs sold $5 to mostly $10 lower on Tuesday, slaughter lambs under 90 pounds $5-10 lower, heavier weights weak, slaughter ewes steady; kid goats were $5-10 lower and nannies steady. Receipts totaled 10,096 head, around 40 percent feeder lambs, 20 percent slaughter lambs, 10 percent slaughter ewes and 30 percent goats. This was the first special spring lamb sale of the season.

Feeder steers and heifers sold firm last Thursday, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows firm and pairs moderately higher. Receipts totaled 1800 head, around 60 percent stock cows and pairs for the special replacement sale, 25 percent feeders and 15 percent slaughter cows and bulls.
