San Saba Feeder Steer,
Heifer Prices Higher
SAN SABA —(April 15)— Feeder steer and heifer calves sold $2-3
higher, steer yearlings $4-5 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $4-5
higher, stock cattle steady. Receipts totaled 578 head. There was no
sale in Mason due to the Easter holiday.
Steers: choice lightweight calves $110-162.50, mediumweight
$105-129, heavyweight $95-115; lightweight yearlings $88-95.50,
heavyweight $84-92.
Heifers: choice lightweight calves $105-157.50, mediumweight
$100-114, heavyweight $90-118; lightweight yearlings $80-88.50.
Slaughter cows: high dressing $57-61.50, medium $51-56, low $44-80;
high dressing bulls $69-73.50, medium $65-68, low $60-64; heiferettes
and young stock cows $50-70, medium to good bred stock cows $700-750
per head, aged $530-690; choice cows with calves $890-1030 per pair,
medium to good $780-880, aged $710-770.
