MEAT GOATS
continue to fill the niche created by shrinking Angora goat numbers and
what until lately had been a declining sheep inventory. In Texas, meat
goat numbers on January 1 were up six percent from last year at 1.04
million head. That is almost half of the national total of 2.5 million,
compiled for the first time this year.
