Feeder Lambs Steady, Fats Lower Again 
Feeder lambs sold mostly steady around the country this week, with San Angelo on the firm side. Fat lambs continued to find price pressure.

Some Plains Fed Cattle Trade Wednesday At Steady $86-86.50 
Panhandle feedlots had sold about 15,000 head of cattle by midafternoon Wednesday at a steady $86-86.50, but many lots were holding for better money.

Texas Kid Goat Prices Bouncing Around Like Little Rubber Ball 
Kid goat prices found new life on some Texas markets and dropped sharply on others. San Angelo prices were as much as $20 higher, while those in Hamilton were as much as $10 lower. Goldthwaite was $2-3 lower, while Fredericksburg was steady.

Yearling feeder steers and heifers marketed through the country’s auctions and direct trade on Monday and Tuesday last week sold steady to $4 lower. Late-week auctions and limited country sales made an abrupt change and trended steady to $5 higher than the previous week’s closing prices.

Fed Cattle Trade Slow To Develop Last Week 
Slaughter steers and heifers traded steady in Nebraska direct sales by mid-day Friday, but Texas and Kansas were yet to develop.

Angelo Feeder Lambs, Cattle On Firm Side 
Feeder lambs sold firm this week, slaughter lambs weak to $5 lower, slaughter ewes weak to $3 lower, kids $15-20 higher and nannies firm to $5 higher. Rain-shortened receipts totaled 4711 head, around 25 percent feeder lambs, 15 percent slaughter lambs, 15 percent slaughter ewes and 45 percent goats.

Producers Internet Offers 700 Cattle 
Producers Internet Auction offered 700 feeder cattle in their regularly scheduled sale. Delivery was current through August.

Most Lockhart Steers, Heifers Sell Stronger 
Feeders steers and heifers sold steady, instances $1-2 higher, slaughter cows $1-2 lower, bulls $2-4 lower. Receipts totaled 1011 head.

Abilene Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Steady 
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady on a light test, slaughter cows and bulls $2-5 higher. Receipts totaled 364 head.

Most Lampasas Cattle Prices Termed Lower 
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 lower, slaughter cows $2-4 lower, bulls $1-3 lower. Receipts totaled 611 head.

Most Fredericksburg Sheep, Goats Steady 
Feeder lambs sold weak on a light test, slaughter lambs steady, slaughter and feeder goats steady. Receipts totaled 2738 head.

Most Crockett Cattle Prices Turn Higher 
Feeder steers and heifers were $2-3 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $5-6 higher. Receipts totaled 867 head.

Hamilton Lambs, Kids Off, Cattle Higher 
Lambs sold $15 lower on Monday, kids steady to $10 lower, slaughter ewes $5 higher and nannies steady. Heavy rain Sunday held receipts to only 1276 head. Steer calves sold steady to $2 higher Tuesday, yearlings $2-6 higher, heifer calves steady to $3 higher, yearlings steady to $5 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 241 head.

U.S. Meat Production 6.8% Above A Year Ago 
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 900.4 million pounds, .6 percent more than a week earlier and 6.9 percent more than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was up 2.9 percent at 9.62 billion pounds.

Three Rivers Calves Up, Yearlings Steady 
Feeder steers under 500 pounds sold $3-8 higher, heavier weights steady to firm, heifers under 500 pounds $2-5 higher, heavier weights steady, slaughter cows firm, bulls steady. Receipts totaled 3237 head.

Most Tulia Feeder Cattle Sell Steady 
Feeder steers under 700 pounds sold mostly steady, heavier weights $2-4 higher, heifers mostly steady on a light test. Receipts totaled 2125 head.

Domestic Wool Slow, Aussie Wools Lower 
Domestic grease wool trading remained slow, but activity is increasing as shearing proceeds. Demand was light to moderate.

Most Milano Cattle Prices Called Steady 
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows steady. Receipts totaled 387 head.

Llano Feeder Calves, Yearlings Sell Higher 
Feeder steer and heifer calves and lightweight yearlings sold $2-3 higher, slaughter cows $1-2 lower. Receipts totaled 176 head.

Athens Feeder Steers, Heifers Trend Higher 
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady $2 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady to firm. Receipts totaled 1037 head.

Buffalo Calves Rise, Yearlings Sell Steady 
Feeder steers and heifers 300-500 pounds sold $1-3 higher, 500-700 pounds steady, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 higher. Receipts totaled 696 head.

Junction Sheep, Goat Prices Called Steady 
All sheep and goat classes sold steady on receipts of 2335 head.

Fredericksburg Feeder Cattle Prices Steady 
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 lower. Receipts totaled 1153 head.

Coleman Calves Steady, Yearlings Drift Lower 
Feeder steers under 500 pounds sold steady, heavier weights $3 lower, heifers mostly steady, instances to $4 lower on 700 pound offerings, slaughter cows and bulls $3-5 lower. Receipts totaled 895 head.

Comanche Feeder Cattle Prices Trend Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-5 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Rain held receipts to 219 head.

Dalhart Feeder Calves Steady, Yearlings Up 
Feeder steers under 600 pounds and heifers under 500 pounds sold steady, heavier weights $2-3 higher, slaughter cows $3-4 lower. Receipts totaled 1646 head.

Fredericksburg Female Cattle Sale Offers 1044 
A special spring female replacement cattle sale offered 1044 head.

Indian Nation Brangus Bulls Average $2305 
The Indian Nation spring Brangus sale sold 76 registered Brangus bulls for an average of $2304.61 and 239 commercial Brangus females for an average of $1084.85.

Goldthwaite Light Lambs, Goats Higher 
Feeder lambs sold steady to weak on a light test, slaughter lambs steady except lightweights $10-15 higher, slaughter goats $2-3 higher, stock and feeder goats steady. Receipts totaled 3096 head.

Hales Bull $97,500 For Third Of Semen 
Hales Angus Farm’s 11th annual bull and female sale topped out at $97,500 for one-third semen interest in a herd sire bull, purchased by Dr. John Zieglschmid of Willow Creek Farms, Franklin, Texas.

Feb. 4 Meat Imports 8% Below A Year Ago 
The total amount of imported meat and poultry passed for entry in the United States the week ending February 4 was 29,858 metric tons. The following figures are in metric tons.

Mason, San Saba Calves Steady, Yearlings Up 
Feeder steer and heifer calves sold steady last week in Mason and San Saba, yearlings $1 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $2 lower. Receipts totaled 1191 head at the two sales.

Boxed Beef Values Fall To 5½ Month Low 
The national comprehensive boxed beef cutout report on all fed steers and heifers sold last week dropped $3.55 to $140.17, the lowest value since early November. All grades and cuts declined. Grade declines ranged from $2.26 on Prime to $4.91 on Select. Brisket values suffered a $10.13 decline, while rib and flank values were only $1.98 and 1.85 lower; other cuts were $2.64-4.22 lower. Select and ungraded made up 65.7 percent of the total.

Most Beeville Cattle Prices Called Higher 
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-6 higher, boner and breaker slaughter cows $4 higher, lean steady, bulls firm. Receipts totaled 1854 head.
