Feeder, Fat Lambs Exhibit Firm Undertone
Feeder lambs were $2-5 higher in Texas markets, and the light end managed nearly all of the gains reported. Slaughter lambs also managed to gain some ground as markets reflect firm to higher prices. Prices were benefiting from a firm undertone to the market, and downward fluctuations reflected on the quality of the offerings.

LCRA also operates six dams on the Colorado River which make up the Highland Lakes, including Buchanan, Inks, LBJ, Marble Falls, Travis, and Lake Austin. LCRA has no taxing authority and operates solely on utility revenues and fees generated from supplying energy, water and community services.

Feeder steers under 500 pounds were steady, over 500 pounds steady to firm, heifers under 500 pounds steady to firm, over 500 pounds $2-3 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $2 higher, replacement cows and cow-calf pairs $100-150 lower. Receipts totaled 1431 head.

Most Beeville Feeder Cattle Prices Softer
Feeder steers were $2 lower, heifers under 500 pounds firm, over 500 pounds $3 lower, slaughter cows steady, bulls untested. Receipts totaled 659 head.

Fredericksburg Lamb, Goat Prices Higher
Feeder lambs sold $3-5 higher, slaughter lambs steady, feeder goats untested, slaughter goats $5-7 higher. Receipts totaled 2107 head.

Texas Mohair Trades Total 12,000 Pounds
Mohair trading in Texas included 12,000 pounds in slow off-season activity. The current loan deficiency rate is 84 cents per pound. Trades are all f.o.b. the warehouse and included 36-38 micron adult at $2.85, fine adult at $2.90, 12-month $2.47, No. 1 yearling 31-33 micron $3.60, No. 2 $3.25 and No 3 $3.15, fall kid 23-25 micron $7.05, No. 2 $6.55, No. 2 spring kid $3.75.

Angelo Lambs Steady, Light Cattle Firm
Heavy slaughter lambs were steady, lightweights weak to $5 lower, slaughter ewes weak to $2 lower, feeder lambs steady, kid goats steady, nannies firm. Receipts totaled 7725 head.

Crockett Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Decline
Feeder steers and heifers were $2-3 lower, instances $5 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 2048 head.

Hamilton Lambs Steady, Steers Steady To Lower
Lambs sold steady Monday, ewes $10 higher, kid goats $5 higher, nannies steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 2105 head.

Most Cleburne Feeder Cattle Prices Steady
Feeder cattle were steady, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 higher. Receipts totaled 689 head.

Abilene Feeder Cattle Prices Mostly Lower
Feeder steers under 500 pounds were $2-4 lower, over 500 pounds steady, heifers $2-5 lower, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 lower, replacement cows $80 higher, pairs untested. Receipts totaled 1705 head.

Fredericksburg Heavy Steer Prices Decline
Feeder steers over 500 pounds sold $1-3 lower, heifers under 500 pounds steady, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 1114 head.

Junction Kid Goat Prices Hold Steady
Kid goats were steady, other sheep and goat price trends unreported on receipts of 1443 head.

Most San Saba, Mason Cattle Prices Higher
Stocker steers were $3-6 higher in San Saba and Mason, instances up to $8 higher, stocker heifers $3-5 higher, feeder steers and heifers steady, packer cows and bulls steady to $1 higher. Receipts totaled 2523 head.

Jordan Special Female Sale Mostly Higher
The market was termed active and demand good in a special replacement female sale at Jordan Cattle Auction. Cow-calf pairs were $50-100 higher, bigger and fleshier young pairs $1200-1450, thinner pairs $1000-1200, mixed color and solidmouth pairs $850-1050; bred cows were also $50-100 higher, most younger and better quality winter and spring calvers $925-1200, mixed color and thinner cows $800-975; bred heifers were $75-150 higher at mostly $950-1320 and open heifers $50-75 higher at $750-900. Receipts totaled 2679 head.

Most Amarillo Feeder Cattle Prices Steady
Feeder steers and heifers were mostly steady except weights under 450 pounds $1-3 higher, slaughter cows and bulls untested. Receipts totaled 1630 head.

U.S. Meat Production 2.6% Above A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 953 million pounds, .5 percent more than the previous week and 2.6 percent more than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was up 3.7 percent.

Goldthwaite Light Lambs $8-10 Lower
Lightweight slaughter lambs were $8-10 lower, heavyweights steady on a light test, stocker and feeder lambs untested, stocker and feeder goats $3-5 lower, slaughter goats $5-10 lower. Receipts totaled 2176 head.

Dalhart Feeder Steer Prices Termed Steady
Feeder steers were steady, heifers $2-3 lower except several load lots over 650 pounds firm, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $2 higher. Receipts totaled 3424 head.

Domestic Wool Slow, Australian Prices Up
Domestic wool trading remained seasonally slow last week with just 60,000 pounds of wool sold on a clean basis f.o.b. the warehouse.

Mohair LDP Rate Drops Four Cents
As of Wednesday, the USDA loan deficiency payment for mohair dropped four cents to 84 cents per pound.
