Sheep Markets Mostly Steady, A Few Higher
Feeder lamb prices were steady to higher in most markets, as much as $10-12 higher at Goldthwaite. San Angelo slaughter lambs sold steady, as did heavyweights in other Texas markets. Lightweight slaughter lambs ranged from $10 lower to $15 higher.

Plains fed cattle trade fell $2-2.50 in late and light action last week, and packers were still sitting on their hands at presstime this week. Feedlots were said to be asking $93-94.

Mixed Again In Recent Sales

Slaughter meat goat prices were uneven again in recent trading. Junction and Fredericksburg were steady, Hamilton $5 higher and Goldthwaite $10-12 higher. San Angelo, however, was steady to $5 lower, and New Holland, Pennsylvania was $10 lower per head on weights under 50 pounds, heavier kids $10-20 lower.

Dalhart Light Feeder Steers Firm To $2 Up
Feeder steers under 600 pounds were firm to $2 higher, heifers under 600 pounds firm, steers and heifers over 600 pounds $2 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 2137 head.

Fredericksburg Feeder, Packer Cattle Steady
Steers and heifers sold steady, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 768 head.

Fredericksburg Lamb Price Trends Mixed
Stocker and feeder lambs were steady, lightweight slaughter lambs $5-10 lower, heavyweights steady, slaughter goats steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 2279 head.

Goldthwaite Lambs Up, Packer Goats Higher
Stocker and feeder lambs were $10-12 higher, lightweight slaughter lambs $10-15 higher, heavyweight slaughter lambs steady, slaughter goats $10-12 higher. Sheep and goats totaled 1504 head.

Graham Feeder Cattle Range Steady To Lower
Feeder steers and heifers under 500 pounds were steady, over 500 pounds $2-4 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady on a light test, replacement cows and cow-calf pairs steady to firm on a light test. Receipts totaled 585 head.

Hamilton Lambs Gain, Cattle Fully Steady
Lambs sold $5 higher on Monday, ewes steady, kid goats $5 higher, nannies steady. Receipts totaled 2651 head.

Imported Meat Total 15.39% Below Year Ago
Imported meat for the week ending January 26 totaled 25,346 metric tons. This compares to 29,957 metric tons for the same period last year and is a 15.39 percent decrease. The following figures represent metric tons.

Most Mason, San Saba Feeder Cattle Lower
Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 lower in San Saba and Mason, stocker steers and heifers steady. Receipts totaled 2141 head at the two sales.

Junction Goats Mixed, Sheep Classes Steady
Choice kid goats sold steady, feeder kids $2-4 lower, nannies and billies steady, muttons $2 higher, light Easter lambs $5-10 higher, other sheep and goat classes steady. Receipts totaled 2141 head.

Most Lampasas Steer, Heifer Prices Steady
Feeder steers and heifers were steady, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 higher. Receipts totaled 510 head.

Mohair, Wool LDP Unchanged
WASHINGTON — As of Wednesday the LDP for mohair remained at 90 cents. The LDP for ungraded wool was also unchanged at 15 cents.

Lockhart Feed Steers, Heifers $2-3 Lower
Feeder steers and heifers $2-3 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $1 higher. Receipts totaled 448 head.

Red Meat Production 3.8% Above Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 953.5 million pounds, 1.7 percent higher than the previous week and 3.8 percent above last year. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was 4.5 percent higher last year.

Steady To $3 Lower Last Week

Feeder cattle sold steady to $3 lower across the country last week. A few early-week sales were near steady, but bad news travels fast, and several places were $4-6 lower by late week.

Trevor Brazile, Decatur, Texas, leads PRCA’s all-around rodeo competition with $30,514 in season earnings to date. He is followed by Seth Glause Rock Springs, Wyo., with $25,790; Clint Robinson, Spanish Fork, Utah, $23,787; Cash Myers, Athens, Texas, $20,800; and Cade Swor, Chico, Texas, $14,549.

Feeder steers and heifers under 600 pounds $1-3 higher, steers over 600 pounds $1-2 lower, heifers over 600 pounds $1-2 higher, slaughter cows firm to $1 higher. Receipts totaled 5024 head.

Domestic Wool Quiet, Aussie Prices Higher
Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was moderate last week with confirmed sales of 353,000 pounds and moderate demand.
