Plains Fed Cattle Trade Quiet,
FCE Tops At $112; Many Unsold

Panhandle fed cattle trade was quiet at midweek, a few bids reported at $110-112 against asking prices of $115-116. Last week’s movement was mostly at $115, up $3 from the week before.

Few Lambs Steady,
Most Trend Higher

San Angelo lamb prices this week were all quoted sharply higher. Fredericksburg lambs sold steady. Goldthwaite wool lambs were $5 higher, Dorper and Barbado lambs $5-10 higher. Hamilton wool lambs sold $15 higher, Dorper lambs $25 higher, and Barbado lambs $20 higher.

Slaughter Meat Goats Steady
To Up In Most Recent Trading

Slaughter meat goat prices were steady to higher in most recent trading. Fredericksburg was steady, San Angelo sharply higher, Goldthwaite $5-10 higher, and Hamilton $20 higher. New Holland, Pennsylvania bucked the trend with prices mostly steady to $10 lower per head.

Mason and San Saba stocker cattle were a full $5 higher, feeder steers $3 higher, feeder heifers a full $5 higher, packer cows and bulls steady, pairs and bred cows steady. Receipts totaled 3270 head for the two sales.

Cattle $4-10 Higher

Steers and heifers were $4-10 higher, packer cows and bulls $1 higher. Cattle receipts totaled 1865 head.

Columbus Calf Market
Prices Trend Higher

Calf prices were higher, cows steady. Receipts totaled 2934 head.

Clifton Stocker Steer
Prices Termed $4-6 Up

Stocker steers were $4-6 higher, feeder steers $10-15 higher, stocker heifers $8-10 higher, feeder heifers $4-6 higher, packer cows steady. Receipts totaled 900 head.

Most Lampasas Feeder
Cattle $12-15 Higher

Feeder cattle were $12-15 higher, instances up to $18 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 higher. Receipts totaled 1222 head.

Navasota Cattle Sell
Steady To $5 Higher

Cattle prices were steady to $5 higher on receipts of 1362 head.
Steers: 150-300 pounds $100-190, 300-400 pounds $100-182.50, 400-500 pounds $95-175, 500-600 pounds $95-171, 600-700 pounds $85-137.50.

Coleman Feeder Steers,
Heifers $4-5 Higher

Stocker cattle were $5-10 higher, feeder cattle $4-5 higher, packer cows and bulls steady, stocker cows and pairs about steady. Receipts totaled 3253 head.

Most Cuero Calves
Termed $2-3 Higher

Most calves were $2-3 higher, some up $6, packer cows steady to stronger. Receipts totaled 2533 head.

Goldthwaite Kid Goat
Prices $5-10 Higher

Wool lambs were $5 higher, Dorper and Barbado lambs $5-10 higher, kid goats $5-10 higher, slaughter nannies $10 higher, replacement nannies steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 3146 head.

Gonzales Yearlings,
Calves Hold Steady

Calves and yearlings were steady, packer cows steady to $2 lower. Receipts totaled 1387 head.

Offers 4061 Females

Most cow-calf pairs were $1725-2475 in the special replacement sale, pairs carrying less flesh and with really young calves $1500-1725, better medium to long bred cows $1450-1925, short bred cows and some solidmouth medium bred cows $1175-1450, most better, bigger medium to long bred heifers $1400-2250, medium and smaller frame heifers and those with less flesh $1125-1400, open heifers $800-1100 except some true F-1 and Brahmans $1100-1575. Receipts totaled 4061 head.

Yearlings $2-6 Lower

Calves and yearlings were $2-6 lower, packer cows and bulls $2 lower. Receipts totaled 451 head.

Offerings 1338 Cattle

Cattle receipts totaled 1338 head.
Steers: under 300 pounds $160-220, 300-400 pounds $150-185, 400-500 pounds $125-150, 500-600 pounds $115-142, 600-700 pounds $105-120, 700-800 pounds $95-110.

Wichita Falls Calves
Sell Steady To Higher

Light calves were steady, larger calves steady to $5 higher, packer cows $1-2 lower, bred cows fully steady. Receipts totaled 1670 head.

Heavy Crockett Feeder
Cattle Mostly Firm

Lightweight feeder cattle were $4-10 lower, heavier classes mostly firm, slaughter cows $3 lower, slaughter bulls $2 lower. Receipts totaled 1416 head.

Hamilton Kid Goats
Termed $20 Higher

Wool lambs were $15 higher Monday, Dorper lambs $25 higher, Barbado lambs $20 higher, ewes $20 higher, kid goats $20 higher, nannies steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 1162 head.

Most Feeder Cattle $2-6 Higher

Steers and heifers traded $2-6 higher across the country last week, most steer calves under 600 pounds up to $10 higher.

Quoted $6-10 Higher

Yearling steers and heifers sold steady to $4 higher, calves $6-10 higher. Receipts totaled 2257 head.

Light Clovis Feeder
Cattle $5-9 Higher

Feeder steers and heifers under 500 pounds were $5-9 higher, 600-700 pounds $5-6 higher, over 700 pounds steady to $1 lower, slaughter cows $2 higher, bulls steady. Receipts totaled 3474 head.

Dalhart Steer, Heifer
Calf Trend $3-5 Higher

Steer and heifer calves were $3-5 higher, yearling and feedlot-ready steers and heifers over 650 pounds firm to $3 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $1 higher. Receipts totaled 3429 head.

Cattle receipts totaled 749 head.

Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was slow last week, with 105,373 pounds of confirmed trades.

Red Meat Production
6.8% Above A Year Ago

Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 1058.6 million pounds, 15 percent higher than the previous week and 6.8 percent higher than last year. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was 3.3 percent higher than last year.

Boxed Beef Cutout
Values Trend Higher

The national comprehensive boxed beef cutout report for last week showed prices up $1.49 from the previous week at $183.17. A year ago the cutout value was $199.69.

Steers: 200-300 pounds $160-189, 300-400 pounds $131-185, 400-500 pounds $125-164, 500-600 pounds $115-141, 600-700 pounds $107-127, 700-800 pounds $100-127, 800-900 pounds $90-119.

Prices $3-6 Higher

Feeder steers sold $3-6 higher, feeder heifers mostly firm to $3 higher, steer and heifer calves $6-10 higher. Receipts totaled 10,264 head.

Calves Called Steady

Steer calves under 500 pounds were steady to $5 higher, over 500 pounds $2-5 lower, yearling steers $3-5 lower except over 800 pounds steady, heifer calves under 450 pounds steady, over 450 pounds $2-3 lower. Receipts totaled 9376 head.

Called Sharply Higher

All sheep and goat classes were sharply higher Tuesday on receipts of 1927 head.

Prices Mostly Steady

Slaughter lambs weighing under 70 pounds were steady to firm, lambs over 70 pounds $10-20 lower, slaughter ewes unevenly steady, slaughter kid goats and nannies mostly steady to $10 lower per head, slaughter bucks weighing under 100 pounds mostly steady to $10 lower per head, heavier bucks $20-40 lower per head, slaughter wethers under 150 pounds $10-30 lower per head, heavier wethers $10-30 higher per head. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 4603 head.

Oklahoma City Steers
Quoted Steady To Off

Feeder steers were steady to $5 lower, feeder heifers $2-3 lower, steer calves steady to $3 lower, heifer calves $2-6 lower. Receipts totaled 8797 head.
