Plains Fed Cattle Trading Light
Tuesday At Mostly $132 To $134

Plains fed cattle trade kicked off early this week with light movement at $132-134 on Tuesday, later sales mostly $132. By Wednesday bids were reduced to $128 against asking prices of $132. Last week’s going rate on light movement was steady to $1 higher than the previous week at $137.

Most Lamb Auction
Price Trends Lower

San Angelo slaughter lamb prices were quoted $10-20 lower this week, while feeder lambs were called weak. Hamilton Dorper lambs sold $15 lower, wool and Barbado lambs $10 lower. Goldthwaite wool lambs were $5-10 lower, light Dorper and Barbado lambs $5 lower, and medium and heavy hair lambs steady. Fredericksburg lambs sold $5 lower.

Slaughter Meat Goat Prices
Lower In Most Recent Trade

Slaughter meat goat prices were lower in most recent trading. Goldthwaite and Fredericksburg were $5 lower, San Angelo $10-15 lower, Hamilton $20 lower, and New Holland, Pennsylvania steady to $20 lower per head.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has reached agreement with Chinese officials on final details of a protocol to allow the U.S. to begin beef exports to China. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue on Monday announced the posting of technical documents related to the beginning of shipments.

Stocker steers were $7-10 higher, feeder steers $3-5 higher, stocker heifers $5-7 higher, feeder heifers $8-10 higher, packer cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 436 head.

Cattle receipts totaled 1113 head.
Steers: 200-300 pounds $200-222, 300-400 pounds $170-202, 400-500 pounds $155-185, 500-600 pounds $141-167, 600-700 pounds $130-161, 700-800 pounds $120-147, 800-900 pounds $110-145.

Cattle receipts totaled 976 head.
Steers: under 300 pounds $170-210, 300-400 pounds $160-180, 400-500 pounds $150-165, 500-600 pounds $140-163, 600-700 pounds $130-152, 700-800 pounds $120-150.

Sell Steady To Higher

Calves were steady to $8 higher, feeder cattle steady to $5 higher, packer cows and pairs steady to $50 higher. Receipts totaled 966 head.

Columbus Calf Prices
Reported $2-4 Higher

Calves were $2-4 higher, cows stronger. Receipts totaled 876 head.

Fredericksburg Steers
Strong, Heifers Up

Steer prices were strong, heifers $1-3 higher, cows and bulls $1 higher. Cattle receipts totaled 999 head.

Navasota Cattle Sell
Steady To $5 Lower

Cattle prices were steady to $5 lower on receipts of 1424 head.
Steers: 150-300 pounds $115-225, 300-400 pounds $115-197.50, 400-500 pounds $115-170, 500-600 pounds $110-163, 600-700 pounds $110-158.

Cattle receipts totaled 2388 head.
Steers: under 300 pounds $185-215, 300-400 pounds $180-200, 400-500 pounds $170-190, over 500 pounds $140-170.

Wool lambs were $5-10 lower, light Dorper and Barbado lambs $5 lower, medium and heavy lambs steady, light kid goats $5-10 lower, slaughter kids $5 lower, slaughter and replacement nannies steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 4067 head.

Most Cuero Calves
Steady, Few Higher

Most calves were steady, some lighter classes $2-4 higher, packer cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 1086 head.

Prices Increase $2-4

Stocker and feeder cattle were $2-4 higher, packer cows and bulls $2-3 higher, stocker cows and pairs firm. Receipts totaled 2143 head.

Hamilton Kid Goats
Reported $20 Lower

Dorper lambs were $15 lower Monday, wool and Barbado lambs $10 lower, ewes $10 lower, kid goats $20 lower, nannies steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 2205 head.

Three Rivers Light
Calves Decline $4-8

Lightweight calves were $4-8 lower, heavy calves and yearlings $2-4 lower, packer cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 1132 head.

Most Fredericksburg
Kid Goats $5 Lower

Lambs were $5 lower, kid goats $5 lower, plain kids $20-30 lower. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 4938 head.

Heifer Prices Off $2-5

Feeder cattle were $2-5 lower, slaughter cows $3 lower, slaughter bulls mostly firm. Receipts totaled 1504 head.

Nation’s Yearling Feeder Steers,
Heifers Sell Steady To $8 Higher

Yearling steers and heifers sold steady to $8 higher across the country last week. Steer and heifers calves traded steady to $5 higher. Feeder steers and heifers in the Southeast sold $2-5 higher. Trade was active on good to very good demand.

Aussie Market Higher

Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was quiet last week with no confirmed trades.

Red Meat Production
2.8% Above A Year Ago

Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 954.8 million pounds, 12.1 percent higher than the previous week and 2.8 percent higher than last year. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was three percent higher than last year.

Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady to instances $4 higher. Receipts totaled 3576 head.

Feeder steers and heifers sold weak to $4 lower. Receipts totaled 684 head.

A lower undertone was noted on feeder cattle, slaughter cows and bulls $3-4 higher. Receipts totaled 974 head.

Boxed Beef Cutout
Prices Trend Higher

The national comprehensive boxed beef cutout report for last week showed prices up $1.23 from the previous week at $235.68. A year ago the cutout value was $213.15.

Cattle Decline $2-5

Feeder steers and heifers traded $2-5 lower, heavier calves $1-5 lower. Receipts totaled 7594 head.

Joplin Steer Calves
Quoted $7-12 Lower

Steer calves were $7-12 lower, yearling steers $3-6 lower, heifer calves and yearling heifers $2-4 lower. Receipts totaled 5206 head.

New Holland Kid Goat
Trend Steady To Lower

Kid goats were steady to $20 lower per head, nannies steady to $10 lower per head, bucks mostly $10-20 lower per head. Goat receipts totaled 2134 head.

Angelo Kid Goats
Sell $10-15 Lower

Slaughter lambs were $10-20 lower Tuesday, feeder lambs weak, slaughter ewes weak to $5 lower, kid goats $10-15 lower, nannies, steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 8100 head.
