Plains Fed Cattle Sitting Home
At Midweek, Neither Side Active

Panhandle fed cattle trade was a wait-and-see deal at midweek, neither side showing their cards. Last week’s going price on minimal sales was $131, off $6 from the week before.

Most Lamb Prices
Steady To Lower

San Angelo slaughter and feeder lamb prices were all called weak Tuesday. Fredericksburg wool lambs sold $5 lower, Dorper lambs steady. Goldthwaite wool lambs were steady to $5 higher, light Dorper and Barbado lambs $5-10 lower, and medium and heavy hair lambs $5 lower. Hamilton lambs sold $10 lower.

Slaughter Meat Goats Steady
To Off In Most Recent Trade

Slaughter meat goat prices were steady to mostly lower in recent trading. Fredericksburg was steady, San Angelo weak, Goldthwaite $10 lower, Hamilton $20 lower, and New Holland, Pennsylvania $10-20 lower per head.

Stocker steers were $7-10 lower, feeder steers $3-5 lower, stocker heifers $8-10 lower, feeder heifers $6-8 lower, packer cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 907 head.

Price Trend Off $5-10

Stocker and feeder cattle were $5-10 lower, packer cows and bulls steady to firm, stocker cows and pairs $50-100 lower. Receipts totaled 2105 head.

Comanche Feeder Steer,
Heifer Prices $3-6 Off

Feeder cattle were $3-6 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 411 head.

Cuero Calf Market
Prices $3-7 Lower

Calves were $3-7 lower, packer cows $1-2 higher, better packer bulls $2-3 higher. Receipts totaled 1199 head.

Goldthwaite Wool Lamb
Trend Steady To Higher

Wool lambs were steady to $5 higher, light Dorper and Barbado lambs $5-10 lower, medium and heavy hair lambs $5 lower, light kid goats $5-10 lower, slaughter kids $10 lower, slaughter nannies steady to $5 lower, replacement nannies $5-10 lower. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 3852 head.

Gonzales Yearlings,
Calves All Off $3-5

Calves and yearlings were $3-5 lower, packer cows steady to $2 higher. Receipts totaled 1168 head.

Prices Decline $5-7

Cattle prices were $5-7 lower on receipts of 1067 head.
Steers: 150-300 pounds $115-215, 300-400 pounds $115-185, 400-500 pounds $115-165, 500-600 pounds $110-160, 600-700 pounds $110-149.

Prices Termed $10 Off

Steer prices were $10 lower, heifers $4-5 lower, cows and bulls steady. Cattle receipts totaled 1108 head.

Trend Termed Cheaper

Calves were a little cheaper, cows cheaper. Receipts totaled 873 head.

Cattle Decline $3-5

Calves were 5-8 lower except best kinds steady, feeder cattle $3-5 lower, packer cows $2-3 lower, packer bulls steady, bred cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 1390 head.

Prices $20 Lower

Lambs were $10 lower Monday, ewes steady, kid goats $20 lower, nannies $10 lower. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 1907 head.

Fredericksburg Lambs
Steady To $5 Lower

Wool lambs were $5 lower, Dorper lambs steady, kid goats steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 4781 head.

Light Three Rivers
Calves $6-8 Lower

Lightweight calves were $6-8 lower, heavy calves and yearlings $4-8 lower, packer cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 1174 head.

Crockett Off $3-7
On Feeder Cattle

Feeder cattle were $3-7 lower, slaughter cows steady, slaughter bulls $1 higher. Receipts totaled 1565 head.

Feeder Steer And Heifer Trends
$5-10 Lower Across The Country

Steers and heifers sold $5-10 lower across the country last week.
Many market reports throughout the Plains states noted rising temperatures affecting the receipts, as is typical for this time of year. Receipts start declining through June, but a few auctions will start back up in July and into August. Many sales go to summer schedules with sales every two or three weeks.

Tulia Feeder Cattle
Prices Decline $4-8

Feeder steers and heifers sold $4-8 lower. Receipts totaled 2402 head.

Most Clovis Steers,
Heifers $4-5 Lower

Feeder steers and heifers were $4-5 lower compared with two weeks ago, instances $8-9 lower on cattle under 600 pounds, slaughter cows steady to $2 higher, bulls $3 higher. Receipts totaled 2260 head.

Amarillo Packer Cows
Called Weak To Lower

Feeder steers and heifers sold with a lower undertone, slaughter cows and bulls weak to $3 lower. Receipts totaled 877 head.

Most Lighter Belen
Steers $8-10 Lower

Feeder steers and heifers under 600 pounds were $8-10 lower, instances $15 lower, over 600 pounds $3-5 higher, instances $10 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $3 lower except high dressing bulls $4 higher. Receipts totaled 1141 head.

Boxed Beef Cutout
Prices Trend Higher

The national comprehensive boxed beef cutout report for last week showed prices up $2.39 from the previous week at $238.07. A year ago the cutout value was $213.25.

Imported meat for the week ending June 10 totaled 37,773 metric tons. The following figures represent metric tons.

Cattle Trend Steady

Steers and heifers under 700 pounds were $5-8 lower, spots $10 lower, particularly on calves under 600 pounds, heavier weights steady. Receipts totaled 4654 head.

Oklahoma City Steers,
Heifers Off By $3-6

Feeder steers and heifers traded $3-6 lower, heavier calves $3-4 lower. Receipts totaled 6695 head.

Red Meat Production
.8% Above A Year Ago

Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 958.3 million pounds, .4 percent higher than the previous week and .8 percent higher than last year. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was three percent higher than last year.

Domestic Wool Quiet,
Aussie Market Higher

Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was quiet last week with no confirmed trades.

Prices $10-20 Lower

Slaughter kid goats were $10-20 lower per head, nannies steady to $10 lower per head, billies weak, wethers mostly steady. Goat receipts totaled 1833 head.

Angelo Packer Lambs,
Kid Goats Called Weak

Slaughter and feeder lambs were weak Tuesday, slaughter ewes weak to $5 lower, kid goats weak, nannies weak to $10 lower. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 6500 head.
