Plains Fed Cattle Trade Quiet;
Cattle Exchange Top Is $118.50

Panhandle fed cattle trade was typically quiet at midweek, a few bids reported at $115-117 against asking prices of $120 or better. Last week’s going rate was $2 higher at mostly $120 on good volume.

Lambs Sell Both
Sides Of Steady

San Angelo slaughter lamb prices were quoted steady this Tuesday, while feeder lambs were weak. Goldthwaite’s lamb market was called steady. Hamilton lambs all sold $10 higher. Fredericksburg lamb prices were $5 lower.

Slaughter meat goat prices were mixed in most recent trading. Fredericksburg was $5 lower, San Angelo steady, New Holland, Pennsylvania unevenly steady, Goldthwaite steady to $5 higher, and Hamilton $10 higher.

Steady, Heifers Up $5

Steers were steady, heifers $5 higher, cows and bulls steady. Cattle receipts totaled 2224 head.

Cattle receipts totaled 1012 head.
Steers: 200-300 pounds $180-212, 300-400 pounds $164-200, 400-500 pounds $150-181, 500-600 pounds $140-168, 600-700 pounds $125-160, 700-800 pounds $118-144, 800-900 pounds $112-138.

Calves were $5-10 higher, feeder cattle $3-4 higher, packer cows steady to $3 higher, bred cows $50-100 higher. Receipts totaled 1184 head.

Prices $4-10 Higher

Cattle prices were $4-10 higher on receipts of 1539 head.
Steers: 150-300 pounds $115-225, 300-400 pounds $115-220, 400-500 pounds $115-171, 500-600 pounds $110-158, 600-700 pounds $110-144.

New Summerfield Sale
Offerings 917 Cattle

Cattle receipts totaled 917 head.
Steers: under 300 pounds $170-235, 300-400 pounds $155-205, 400-500 pounds $140-163, 500-600 pounds $135-160, 600-700 pounds $115-150, 700-800 pounds $110-137.

Steady To $5 Higher

Lamb prices were steady, kid goats steady to $5 higher, slaughter nannies $5-10 higher, replacement nannies steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 3289 head.

Feeder cattle were $6-10 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 608 head.

Sell Steady To Strong

Stocker and feeder cattle were steady to strong, packer cows and bulls steady to firm, stocker cows and pairs $50-100 higher. Receipts totaled 2110 head.

Light Cuero Calves
Quoted $7-10 Higher

Lighter calves were $7-10 higher, heavier calves $4-5 higher, packer cows $3-4 lower, bulls steady. Receipts totaled 1568 head.

Gonzales Calves Fully
Steady To $3-5 Higher

Calves and yearlings were fully steady to $3-5 higher, packer cows $3-4 lower. Receipts totaled 1398 head.

Graham Auction Sells
1802 Head Of Cattle

Cattle receipts totaled 1802 head.
Steers: under 300 pounds $185-215, 300-400 pounds $180-200, 400-500 pounds $175-190, over 500 pounds $155-175.

Fredericksburg Lambs,
Kid Goats $5 Lower

Lambs and kid goats were all $5 lower. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 3541 head.

Hamilton Kid Goat
Prices $10 Higher

Lambs were $10 higher Monday, ewes steady, kid goats $10 higher, nannies $20 higher. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 1705 head.

Feeder Cattle Trading Active On
Good Demand Across Country

There were too few comparable feeder cattle sales to call an accurate market trend across the country last week. Trade was active with moderate supplies and very good to moderate demand, many markets reopening with their first sale after Independence Day.

Clovis Feeder Cattle
Sell Steady To Higher

Feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 higher except steers 500-600 pounds $8-10 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $2 higher. Receipts totaled 2539 head.

Heavy Dalhart Steers,
Heifers $3-5 Higher

Steer and heifer calves under 600 pounds sold with a much stronger undertone, feeder cattle over 600 pounds $3-5 higher, slaughter cows firm. Receipts totaled 1748 head.

Tulia Feeder Cattle
Mostly $1-4 Higher

Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly $1-4 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $2-5 higher. Receipts totaled 1829 head.

Amarillo Feeder Cattle
Reported $4-6 Higher

Feeder steers and heifers sold $4-6 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $1-3 lower. Receipts totaled 720 head.

Most Belen Steers,
Heifers Up $10-12

Feeder steers and heifers were $10-12 higher, instances $15 higher, slaughter cows steady to $3 higher, bulls steady to $2 lower. Receipts totaled 1041 head.

Oklahoma City Steers,
Heifers $4-8 Higher

Feeder steers and heifers were $4-8 higher, a few calves $4-10 higher. Receipts totaled 5428 head.

Boxed Beef Cutout
Prices Trend Lower

The national comprehensive boxed beef cutout report for last week showed prices down $7.77 from the previous week at $211.81. A year ago the cutout value was $203.68.

Imported meat for the week ending July 8 totaled 31,260 metric tons. The following figures represent metric tons.

Red Meat Production
3.7% Above A Year Ago

Total red meat production under federal inspection last week was estimated at 971.2 million pounds, 17.8 percent higher than the previous week and 3.7 percent higher than last year. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was 3.1 percent higher than last year.

Domestic Wool Quiet,
Aussie Market Lower

Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was very slow last week, with no confirmed trades.

Joplin Steer Calves,
Yearlings $4-7 Higher

Steer calves and yearlings were $4-7 higher, heifer calves steady. Receipts totaled 3326 head.

New Holland Kid Goat
Trend Unevenly Steady

Slaughter kid goats were unevenly steady, slaughter nannies steady to $10 lower per head, slaughter bucks mostly steady to $20 lower per head, slaughter wethers steady to firm. Goat receipts totaled 1775 head.

Angelo Packer Lambs,
Kid Goats Steady

Slaughter lambs were steady Tuesday, slaughter ewes firm to $4 higher, feeder lambs weak, kid goats and nannies steady. Sheep and goat receipts totaled 7300 head.
